We are back, after a little Xmas hiatus… I can’t lie, this has probably been some of the hardest few weeks. We suffered a family loss on Christmas Eve, and another one on NYE, and honestly the last two weeks have felt like one, long, painful day.

This last few months has also been tough on our small business, this has probably been the worst Oct/Nov/Dec for VelvetWeb in terms of sales since opening over 4 years ago. It’s been hard; I know that I’m partially to blame as I just don’t have as much time to dedicate to socials anymore, and I’m fully aware that that’s what really makes the difference.

Having thought about it, this might be VelvetWeb’s last year. I’m not sure we can go another year like 2025. Watching so many other small businesses in the same position, it feels like being sucked into an inevitable black hole. Maybe things will turn around this year, but who knows.

Sorry for all the doom and gloom; it’s been a rough few months and we didn’t enter 2026 on a positive note. I hope all of you guys had a lovely Xmas and New Year. The website is officially back open; head to velvetweblashes.co.uk to shop all your faves again 🖤
