Local elections take place on May 2nd and in the North East we also have a chance to vote for our first combined authority Mayor! Seriously important as they’ll be representing us and our personal interests as a region, in Westminster. So if you’re feeling disenfranchised and sick of things in our country make sure you’re researching the best representative for you and you’re voting at your local ballot station.

HOWEVER! There’s a lesser known deadline today at 5pm for getting a free voter ID which will allow you to vote. If you have a valid passport/driving licence then you’re sweet. (I’ve listed all accepted forms of ID in the comments)
