Losing strength, a heavy chain,
Illness steals my joy and gain.
Vitality fades, a constant strain,
In this struggle, I feel the pain.
Never giving up, though it’s in vain,
Doubts creep in, a pouring rain.
Alone I stand, in this world’s disdain,
Taking my spirit, my will to reign.
Away with hope, it’s hard to sustain.
My fight for movement, a lost refrain.
Grit worn thin, a fragile vane.
To walk again, I can’t attain.
Back to what was, I yearn to gain.
