We hope we have covered everything that we have the answers to so far, and we will keep on updating information as we receive more guidance and information.

WHEN ARE YOU REOPENING?

The guidance we have been given on Tue 23rd June, states that hairdressers are able to open from July 4th 2020- we are now reviewing all the guidance, rules and regulations and have decided to open our doors on Monday 6Th July.

We will be opening earlier from 9am and have also added in (at least on trial basis) Sunday to our opening hours so we are open 7 days a week!

DO YOU HAVE A WAITING LIST?

When we know when we will re-open the customers who had appointments booked in the first 2 weeks when lockdown started, have 24 hours to make their bookings before we open bookings for everyone. This in effect is our waiting list, these are the people who have gone longest without their appointment, and is the fairest way we can do it. If you were in that 2 weeks you should have received an email today with a link to book.

We will then open bookings on Thu 25thJune and will announce on Facebook when this is done.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN I CAN BOOK?

We will be sending out an email to all our customers and also announce when bookings are open on our Facebook so make sure to follow us there.

It will confirm the following

· When we will be reopening for business

· How we have made our environment safe

· New ‘rules and procedures’ which we ask you to follow and costs for appointments

· How you can book an appointment

ARE ALL YOUR STYLISTS RETURNING TO WORK?

As it stands at the moment all our stylists will return to work and you can see which days everyone is working on our online booking system.

WHAT ARE YOUR REVISED APPOINTMENT SLOTS AND WHAT IF I AM EARLY / LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

With the increased emphasis on cleaning between customers and social distancing we will initially be increasing our appointment slots from 20mins to 30mins.

This means we have 20mins for your haircut and 10 mins after to clean and prepare the cutting stations for next customer. If you feel you need more than 20mins for your little one please book two slots as we need to keep to the timings.

We kindly ask you to arrive on time for your appointment, but also kindly ask you NOT TO arrive earlier than 5 mins before your appointment slot as we will be limiting the number of people in the shop and the salon at any one time. Please check in at the front door before entering if you are ok to come in.

We need the time we have allocated to provide safe and efficient service, so if you are running late and if we have back to back bookings we can not accept late arrivals. So if you are running late it’s best to call us before to avoid you making a wasted journey.

Again we understand this all may be frustrating but this is what we need to do to keep us all safe.

HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

You will be able to either book an appointment through our website using our usual online booking service on www.pikku.co.uk, or you will be able to give us a call on 0191 4471300 when our lines re-open.

Unfortunately we will not be taking any bookings over email/messages/social media due the online booking system being live and available bookings will change all the time.

We will initially open for the period of 3 weeks so we can review how our new systems and appointment slots are working- then we have time to make any adjustments needed without having to cancel or change any future bookings. At this point we will then open bookings month ahead before things settle down and as soon as we can we will then re-open bookings well into the future as before.

ARE THE SERVICES AND PRICES YOU OFFER CHANGING?

Yes we have decided to revise our services and prices and these is an added £1 surcharge to cover for increased PPE and other equipment needed. We hope you can see this is a small increase considering we are doing much less cuts each day due to longer appointment slots.

For the time being we are only offering our standard hair cut appointments and services such as fringe trims, plaiting or birthday parties will not be available until further notice.

ARE MY APPOINTMENTS STILL BOOKED IN THAT I MADE PRE-LOCKDOWN FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR?

No. Unfortunately due to the changes to our slots all future appointments had to be deleted. As soon as we know our system works we will re-open rest of the year for appointments.

WILL IT BE THE SAME AS BEFORE? WHAT CHANGES ARE YOU MAKING?

As you can imagine we are all having to make necessary changes to our lives and procedures according to just released guidelines and we will confirm all the final changes once we have had time to digest them and figure out how we can make them applicable to Pikku.

Things might look and feel a little different to what pre-lockdown but we still aim and are confident can provide the same fun, friendly and professional service to you all as in our hearts we are all the same!

We will confirm all requirements for PPE and also what PPE we will be using from gowns, masks, screens etc so you know what to expect.

We will also be removing our toys and books until further notice from the studio so if your little ones have their favourite toys or books it is advisable to bring them with you to your appointment. Ipads will remain in the studio for everyone to use.

WHO CAN COME WITH MY LITTLE ONE TO THEIR APPOINTMENT?

We kindly ask you to have one parent (if at all possible) per child per appointment. If you have any special requirements please call us in advance for advice as on the days we have only one stylist on duty we might be able to work with you with this.

IM SEEING OTHER SALONS ARE ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS AS OF JULY ALREADY, WHY AREN'T YOU DOING THE SAME?

As we have had no official government issued guidelines before today, we simply did not want to start taking bookings until we knew more.

Please know that we only have your best interests at heart. We know it might be frustrating seeing what others are doing but please do believe us when we say that we want to reopen as much as you want us to, but not until this is all clear to us and we hope you can also appreciate this and have confidence in us and know by our actions that when we do re-open we have done all necessary steps to make sure Pikku is the safest environment it can be for all of us.
