I had this lovely new visitor in this week who came looking for advice on how to manage her curls.
During her consultation she asked for a one length bob, as she didn't want her hair to look thin and thought that was her only option as she had tighter curls on the top then she did underneath.
I explained that if we changed the shape of her bob slightly, we could graduate the straighter parts in to help the different curl types blend into each other.
As it was her first visit, I didn't want to change it too much until I built up the trust.
But I have a feeling, now that she has seen the true potential of what her curls can do when a gel is used for hold, that on her next visit, she will want to change the shape again 😂

Two new visitors this week in for their first curly cuts.

My first visitor was a prime example of why you dont cut curly hair wet.
As you can see, in the before photo, her hair is a looser curl at the back than it is in the front. When the sides have been stretched out wet and cut to the same length as the back, once dry, the sides have bounced up a lot shorter.
Her goal was to grow her hair longer. So today's cut was a reset cut. I had to even it out as much as possible for her to be able to start growing it down all together.
I will keep trimming the length every 6 months until it all blends in, then it can grow down evenly.

My second client was the opposite. The previous cut hadn't took into account that her top layer wasn't as curly as the underneath. This resulted in her having a heavy 'ledge' on the top, covering up all the gorgeous curls. This one i kept the length and just shaped it so the bottom curls are now free to bounce back up again.
