Cryotherapy using a Freezpen is a medical procedure that involves freezing and destroying unwanted tissue, typically skin lesions, using extreme cold. The Freezpen delivers a precise, controlled amount of liquid nitrogen to the targeted area, causing the tissue to freeze and eventually slough off as it heals.

It works by rapidly lowering the temperature of the targeted tissue, which leads to the formation of ice crystals within the cells. These ice crystals disrupt the cell structure, causing cellular damage and ultimately cell death. Over time, the treated tissue will be replaced by new, healthy tissue as the area heals.

Cryotherapy using a Freezpen is suitable for various skin conditions such as warts, skin tags, and certain types of benign moles. It is often used when other treatments have been ineffective or when the lesions are in areas where other treatment options may be less desirable.

* Keep hydrated. Skin will become drier with the colder weather and central heating. Make sure you keep hydrated during the day;
* Use lukewarm water! Hot showers dry your skin quickly, and if you do not moisturise it immediately, your skin can develop cracks and winter eczema.
