WHY DO PMU ARTISTS WORRY WHEN BROWS BLEED? 🩸

When I implement pigment into the skin during a powder brow treatment, too much bleeding can actually push the pigment back out.

And that can affect how well your brows heal and retain colour.

Things that can increase bleeding include:

• caffeine
• alcohol
• certain medications
• intense exercise before your appointment
• anything that increases blood circulation

Following the prep instructions really helps your skin hold the pigment better and heal beautifully.

But here’s the important part…

Even if you followed everything perfectly, some people may still bleed a little more.

That can simply be because of:
• your skin type
• previous tattooing or scar tissue
• natural blood circulation

In any circumstances, appropriate technique when pigmenting the skin can also help to reduce the bleeding.

So would I cancel your appointment if you showed up with a coffee in hand?

No 😊

But I would let you know that retention might not be as strong and we may need to perfect things at your touch-up.

At the end of the day these are your brows and your investment, so setting yourself up for the best healed results is always worth it.
