Its time for a change!

With that in mind i've decieded to close down Blue Bramble Dreads.

Its been an amazing adventure over the last ten plus years of making and creating people locs for them. Its allowed me to travel, to work when ive wanted, and I've made some amazing lifelong friends along the way.

For the last two years ive mentally struggled to engage with life, and its left me stagnating. Running a business isnt helping me either. So im hanging up my needle and comb and taking a job. This means ill be no longer taking any new appointments, those that are already booked wont be affected.

With the Raffle i ran through covid, firstly thank you to everyone who donated and helped. It really helped me surive through those days of not being able to work. Secondly I want to apologise for not organising it and giving the winners their tidyups. So ive decided im going to start refunding those who would like me to. With the cost of living getting worse and worse for everyone, im sure it can help those who need it.

For all of those wanting amazing dreadwork done, head to the amazing Dawn of the dread uk(stowmarket), Dread Mechanic(Cambridge), Get Dready,(great yarmouth) those peeps are the best in the area.

Thank you again to everyone that has given me to chance to work on their locs over the years!

Ross with his epicly long dreadlocks returns for their 6 monthly tidyup.

Ross keeps on top of his maintance away from the studio by seperating them so his tidyup was pretty quick, mainly bringing in the loose new growth.

Kim returns to the studio for her 6monthly tidyup. Lots of loose hair to bring in along with a little bit of seperation to restore her dreadlocks to looking amazing!

Kareem comes to visit the studio in September, bringing about the return of his dreadlocks. I actually made his first set 7 or 8 years ago!

Its not often we make sticky up dreadlocks but Kareem's smile after seeing them in the mirror said it all!

Strange that im starting this album off in April, however that's the covid effect i guess.

Before pictures across the top, after across the bottom. Unless its two pictures, then the left picture is the before one šŸ˜‰

No Wax, No Product, No interlocking, are used in any of my tidying methods

Whats that in my Dreads?!

Over the years I’ve seen a lot of gubbins in peoples’ dreadlocks that didn’t belong there. 🤭
One of the most common things is a build up of shampoo. After speaking to many dreadlings over the years, there appears to be two main reasons as to why...

1. Still using a normal hair wash routine.
Either washing as regularly as they would with normal hair, or rinsing it in just the same way.

2. Believing that as ’I use a non-residue shampoo, I don’t need to rinse. You'd be surprised at how many people there are in this camp!

Long term, this build up will create unhappy dreadlings, or possibly retiring from being a dreadling. Which we don’t want either.

Fear not though if you notice this, drop me a message and I'll help you on your way to cleaner dreadlock times. Often the build up starts at the roots, so you may notice it at first. So, when you’re next in for a tidy-up I'll give those lil beauties a thorough check through 🧐

Things you can do to help reduce any build up if you do notice any -
😁 Deep clean your dreadlocks - feel free to message me for any advice
🤩Rinse for longer (a.k.a. more time to sing in the shower)
šŸ˜…Don’t rub the shampoo bar directly into your dreadlocks
😃Use shampoo less often.

Jodie visited the studio at the end of August to take her first steps into dreadlocked life.

We gave her two rows of natural dreadlocks and extended them using ethically sourced, 100% Human hair.

Tayla wanted to try a couple of stealth dreadlocks before committing to any more. When she visited the studio in August we made two rows of stealth dreadlocks, and added on some super blonde extensions.
