I am a freelance hairstylist who has 11 years experience. If you have an enquiry regarding my servic To this day it is still going strong which I am so proud of!
I've moved back to the area, since my husband left the airforce, and have decided it's time to get back into a salon. Having moved around a lot I have found that it has given me an excellent amount of experience in both life issues and hairdressing. I have had to adapt to many new challenges and different working environments and I believe this what has shaped me into the person I am today. I star
ted my hairdressing career here in Norwich working at Adrian Rowe Haircutters mainly in Eaton but did also cover Hellesdon and Chalfont walk and their now closed branch on Groove Road near the city centre. Since leaving there when they closed RAF Coltishall, now known as Badesfield, I went on to work at the Station barbers in Wittering where I learnt an amazing amount about mens hairdressing. Following that we moved to Carterton, Brize Norton camp where I took a job in a local hairdressers called Peaches. Our next move was all the way to Elgin in Scotland where I took a temporary job in Asda to get to know some local people but failed to leave as I loved the people so much so just did hair on the side! However, the opportunity arose for me to take over ownership of my very own Salon which I jumped at the chance to do. At the same time we had made the decision to purchase our first home incase we got priced out of the market in the future! I decided, despite the mortgage pressure I would still go for the opportunity to have a salon as it was a stones throw from our soon to be house. This meant working 84 hours a week for 8 months which was tough when you have to keep switching from Boss to 'you are so stupid holding that stick saying space here' attitude of a few customers! Don't worry most were lovely and I always just played dumb as it's easier. Anyway, my husband unfortunately, but inevitably, got a 4 month detatchment to Afghanistan which happened to fall all over christmas, a hairdressers busiest month. With much heartache I passed my business on the a wonderful girl that I would like to think, but I'm pretty sure, has the same outlook on life and respect for my customers as I had. I moved on to work in Sally's as I couldn't quite give up my hairdressing totally and this way I still got to stay slightly in that industry but the hours suited me better while my husband was away. I totally struggled while my man was away at war over the festive season. It just didn't feel right so when he came home we made, another long story, the decision that he would leave and we would settle back in Norfolk where our children would hopefully have better opportunities and schooling, in our opinion. Its been an extremely tough few years but we've come out the other side stronger and happy than ever before and we all love the adventures we are having living back here! xx
That's my story and should you wish to hear more I'll be happy for you to make an appointment to get your hair done and I look forward to meeting lots of you, making new friends, and hearing all your stories too! xx
