I was chatting to a customer this week and we got onto the subject of what goes into beauty products, makeup, skincare etc.

This lovely lady was avoiding using virtually any products as she was worried that they contained something harmful, for her and her young baby.

She is right to be wary as there can be many harmful ingredients added into our products so it’s all about being aware and making informed choices.

Did you know that petrochemicals can be so harmful that they can generate substances that contribute to cancers? Ones to avoid are:

Mineral oil
Parafin wax
Toulene
Benzene
anything with PEG, DEA or MEA
Butanol anything with the word Butyl (butyl alcohol etc)
EDTA, any word with Propyl (isopropyl alcohol etc)
Parfum or fragrance as 95% of fragrances are derived from petroleum. This one word can contain many many chemicals that are most likely endocrine disrupters.
