Who’s growing out their hair during lockdown? We’re actually really excited for people to see how good they can look with longer hair. A few weeks of forced growth could open your eyes up to new styles that could work for you. We have more control over hair when it’s longer, therefore we can do more things with it. Or alternatively you could join the shaved head movement happening right now. Either way we hope you find a new image for yourself during these tough times and we’ll be ready to guide you through either journey when we’re back!

We just want to wish everyone a Happy Easter from us. We’re really excited to get back to cutting hair when we can and we’re excited to show you the new premises as well. and stay safe, Aretê x

Although we can’t enjoy it at the moment, the weather has certainly brightened up. Here’s a look back at our campaign last summer shot at The Highfields in our hometown Nottingham. We always use our hometown for our photo shoots, the main reason being Nottingham has a whole host of beautiful locations and buildings. Not to mention Nottingham’s famous red brick all over the city centre which makes for a striking backdrop. The area shot here is on The UoN campus At The Highfields and after walking around with the crew for an hour or so we stumbled across this beautiful courtyard. Quite often the locations for these shoots don’t end up where we initially planned but that’s the beauty of Nottingham’s hidden spots.

We will surely miss you all during this fascinating time we are all living through. I’m sure you are all going through your own version of hell right now. But fear not - there is light at the end of the tunnel.

We have quietly been working on a new and improved Areté home! We have been itching to share this news and now is probably a better time than ever to let you all know that your next appointment will be in more style, luxury and comfort than ever before!

We can’t say for certain when that will be. There is still a tremendous amount of work to do and it’s certainly not easy to do from home but we will be revealing more over the coming weeks.

Thank you to all you amazing people for your continued support, you are the ones who make this a reality.

It’s certainly not all doom and gloom. Catch us tomorrow morning on BBC radio Nottingham at around 7:18am. We will be sharing tips for staying on top of your image and surviving the quarantine. Be sure not to miss it as we have some extremely exciting news to reveal!

**PLEASE READ** As of tonight it has been announced that the UK is in a state of emergency. An emergency that is not unique to Britain and a crisis all humans are facing world wide. We are more united now than ever.

The urgent message is to all clients who are expecting appointments this week or in the next month. We can’t honor that, we’re sorry. The government has advised that for the benefit of those in need, we must stay home unless absolutely essential. Therefore we can’t justify the decision to see anyone untill this crisis is under control.

The second important message comes in the form of an apology. We have failed to act in accordance with our values - something we claimed we would never do.
It was arrogance and lack of understanding that lead us to believe people were isolating because they didn’t want to be ill. In fact they were isolating to protect our healthcare system and those most in need. A noble and courages move from everyone but us.

We are now and always will be students of doing the right thing but in this instance we failed.
