DID YOU KNOW.......
It was a Limerick born doctor Sir. William Brooke O’Shaughnessy who introduced cannabis into Western medicine.
Although now largely forgotten by history it was O’Shuaghnessy whose research in India kick started medical cannabis use and research throughout the West.
Before prohibition was enacted cannabis was available from pharmacies for medicinal purposes. Tinctures and other products were prescribed to treat various ailments and conditions.

Great news as the UK makes its first medical cannabis prescription!
Carly Barton, 32, who suffers with fibromyalgia, which leaves her in constant pain has been given the prescription to help manage her symptoms.
The £10,000 per year prescription raises questions around the practicality of the drug as it WILL NOT be covered by the NHS.
