The truth about glossy, healthy hair? Regular trims are non-negotiable.
Even if you’re growing your hair, skipping the scissors isn’t the move. A fresh cut every 6–10 weeks keeps your hair looking strong, shiny, and salon-fresh.
Why it matters: Split ends don’t stay put—they travel up the hair shaft, causing breakage, dullness, and loss of shape. Left too long, even the best blow-dry or colour won’t hit the same.
Think of a haircut as a reset
It removes hidden damage from heat, colouring, and everyday stress, bringing back softness, movement, and that healthy, light feeling.
And it’s all about shape
Hair grows unevenly. Without regular trims, layers lose their structure, ends look tired, and your style stops looking intentional.
The result?
Hair that’s smoother, easier to style, and frames your face beautifully—helping you look and feel instantly more polished.

Beach waves with straighteners? Yes, really!
Beachy curls are one of those timeless, effortless styles that look easy—but there’s a little technique behind them.
The best part? You don’t need a curling wand. Your straightener does the job perfectly.
Here’s how to get soft, textured beach waves at home👇
Step 1:
Start with dry, brushed hair. Smooth out any knots for an even finish.
Step 2:
Always apply heat protectant. This keeps your hair glossy and prevents heat damage.
Step 3:
Section your hair. Smaller sections make more defined waves. Larger sections create a softer, undone texture.
Step 4:
Clamp your straightener halfway down each section, then rotate it 180° away from your face while gliding down. Think soft “S” shapes, not straight lines.
👉 Tip: Alternate directions for a more natural, lived-in beach look.
Step 5:
Let your waves cool completely before touching them (this helps them set!).
Step 6:
Gently run your fingers through to break them up and soften the look.
Step 7:
Finish with a texturising or sea salt spray for that effortless, beachy vibe.

Hair health starts from within👇
Want stronger, healthier-looking hair? These nutrients can play an important role:
🌱 Biotin
☀️ Vitamin D
💪 Zinc
🩸 Iron
🐟 Omega-3s
Remember, healthy hair growth takes time. Hair typically grows around ½ inch per month, so consistency is key.
There’s no magic pill for overnight Rapunzel locks!
The best results come from a combination of:
✂️ Regular trims
💆 Scalp care
🥗 Good nutrition
💧 Healthy habits
Nourish your hair, trust the process, and let your hair thrive.

We spend so much time thinking about what to put on our hair that we sometimes forget that health actually starts from within.
While no single food will magically give you waist-length locks overnight, eating a balanced diet can absolutely support stronger, shinier, healthier hair growth.
Protein is your hair’s best friend
Hair is made mostly of protein, specifically keratin. So if your diet lacks protein, your hair can become weaker and grow more slowly.
Here’s our top list of protein-rich foods you can eat to improve hair health:
Eggs
Chicken
Fish
Greek yoghurt
Beans and lentils
Nuts and seeds
Bonus points for eggs, which also contain biotin — a nutrient often linked to healthy hair growth.

Growing out hair dye can feel awkward at first, especially when roots start showing or colour fades unevenly. The key is to make the transition look intentional while keeping your hair healthy.
One of the easiest ways to blend grown-out colour is with highlights, balayage, or a toner.
These techniques soften the harsh lines between your natural hair and old colour, making regrowth much less noticeable.
Regular trims also help during the process. Cutting away dry or damaged ends keeps your hair looking fresh and gradually removes old colour over time. If your dyed hair feels dry, use nourishing masks and hydrating products to restore softness and shine.
Patience is important when growing out colour, especially if you’re used to having dyed hair. Trying to strip colour too quickly can damage your hair, so it’s always best to work with your Pankhurst & Deane stylist who can guide you through the process safely.

Heat styling dos and don’ts👇
✅Do always apply a heat protectant before using any heated styling tools. This creates a barrier between your hair and the heat, reducing moisture loss and damage.
✅Do invest in high-quality styling tools with adjustable temperature settings. Fine hair requires less heat, while thicker hair may need slightly higher temperatures.
✅Do give your hair regular breaks from heat styling. Embrace your natural style or try heat-free methods like braiding damp hair or doing sock curls.
❌Don’t use heat tools on soaking wet hair unless they’re specifically designed for it. This can cause severe damage and weaken the hair structure.
❌Don’t go over the same section repeatedly. Try to style each section in one smooth pass to minimise exposure to heat.

Healthy hair doesn’t need to involve a complicated routine—just the right habits
✔️ Use the right products for your hair type (dry, oily, curly, coloured—make it tailored)
✔️ Don’t over-wash—2–3 times a week is plenty for most
✔️ Go easy on heat and always use a heat protectant
✔️ Keep up with trims every 6–8 weeks
✔️ Nourish from within—good food + water = happy hair
Consistency is the real glow-up. Save this for your next hair reset.

Struggling with greasy hair that just won’t cooperate? Here’s how to keep your hair looking fresh for longer:
💡 Don’t over-wash — it can actually make your scalp produce MORE oil
💡 Use a lightweight, clarifying shampoo and focus on your roots
💡 Conditioner = mid-lengths & ends only (skip the scalp!)
💡 Dry shampoo is your best friend between washes
💡 Try touching your hair less — your hands transfer oil faster than you think
Consistency is key! Healthy habits = balanced scalp = fresher hair days.
