Elegantly Dunn Beauty
TEMPORARILY CLOSED🤍SIGNED OUT
03/04/2024
Hi everyone,
I have sent this news in text message to my whole client list today. My apologies if it has not come through. If you have messaged me and I have not replied at any stage over the past few months please let me know on this post or WhatsApp me as I have been having big issues on and off with my provider. I would never ignore anyone - I hope you all know this.
I have a bit of news to share. There is no easy way to say it, but I have decided to close my business. I am gutted & so sorry to let anyone down, but I have to do what is best for me and my family at this time. I wanted to call you all personally, but I hope you'll understand this is a very hard thing for me to do, and I think it would be too upsetting having to explain it over and over again. I am going to be transparent here as I feel I owe it to you all to explain the reasons why.
I fully intended on returning as planned, but over the last month, I have been seriously weighing everything up and have made this very tough decision. The unfortunate reality is that childcare costs are just phenomenal, and the system in place makes things very difficult for working families. On top of this, there has been recent changes for self employed which will make things more difficult for small businesses when times are already hard enough with the cost of living crisis and the uncertainty that it brings. I also feel that I would live to regret not spending this precious time with my son so as much as it saddens me to give up something I have poured my heart and soul in to, my heart is full knowing I will be able to put all of that energy in to my son.
I have been so lucky and will forever be grateful for the love, loyalty, support, and kindness from you all. Thanks to you - I celebrated my 4 year anniversary in business. I loved every minute of the practical side of things and spending time with you all but the pressures of the business side of things and each setback I faced brought ALOT of stress and anxiety which was beginning to take it's toll and this was another deciding factor.
Once again, I am so sorry to let anyone down. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, loyalty, friendship, and kindness. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, Elegantly Dunn Beauty is CLOSED. I wish you all the very best. Love,

CHEERS TO 4 YEARS🥂
Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of me opening my wee business, and what a whirlwind it has been since that day! I thought it was over before it even really began with the challenges we all faced in 2020 and beyond, but here we are! Thanks to you - my amazing clients, my family & my friends. I couldn't have got to this wee milestone without your loyalty & support, and I want you to know how truly grateful I am & will always be. As you know, my business is temporarily closed as I am due to become a mummy anytime now. It's been really special for me to share this journey with you all, and I can't wait to introduce you all to our wee guy when the time comes.❤️
PS. My new studio is already set up awaiting my return!🤩
4 years, 4 locations, countless tears, countless laughs, and a million thanks!😘

OFFICIALLY ON MAT LEAVE!🤰💙
Cannot believe I have finished up to have my baby boy! As I enter this exciting chapter of my life, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your continuous support, kind words, advice & gifts. I am one lucky lady & and I appreciate you all so much. Paul & I are so grateful for all the lovely gifts we have received for our little guy. We are overwhelmed by your kindness.
I hope you have all found someone to take care of you while I am off. I will miss you all loads, but I am sure i'll have my hands full with our wee bundle.🤣💙 I will get in touch with you all directly regarding my return date, which is estimated to be mid-late February but yet to be confirmed. My business profile & pages will now be marked as temporarily closed for the time being.
As previously mentioned I won't be taking on new clients when I first start back as my priority will be to acommodate my longterm & regular clients and with reducing my hours to balance childcare I will need to see how things go before taking on any new clients. I also won't be selling gift vouchers temporarily, and any active vouchers that are due to expire during my maternity leave will be extended accordingly. For example, if your voucher is due to expire 24/11/23 it will be extended for 4 weeks from my return date so however many weeks/months you had left to use the voucher from today will be carried over when I return.
Once again, thank you so much everyone & i'll look forward to catching up with you all next year.
Lots of love,
Sarah

Hello everyone..
Hope you are all doing well. Just a wee update. I can't believe we have got to the stage where it is the last time I will see some of you until I return from maternity leave - scary stuff. It has absolutely flown by. 3 weeks tomorrow will be my last working day and when I see you all again i'll be a mammy.😭💙
I am currently fully booked & have a lot on having just moved house, so I have no more room to move appointments but will post availability in the case of cancellations. This will be posted on social media first come, first served, but as always can only be secured by contacting me directly on 07508036050.
Please remember I require at least 24 hours' notice if you wish to cancel your appointment. If you fail to give at least 24 hours' notice, I kindly ask that you pay 100% of the treatment fee unless the cancellation is due to exceptional circumstances. This does include if you arrive for your appointment and choose to cancel part of it on the day, unfortunately, I will still have to charge the full rate of the appointment you have booked out. So please give as much notice as possible with cancellations & changes.💕
I am trying my best to keep up with timings, but I am running behind a little bit at times, and I just want to say thank you for all being so understanding.
Love,

• Nail upgrades including freehand art, loose glitters & pigment, french & repairs are charged dependant on time & detail. Please state upon booking if you require any upgrades with an idea of what you want to allow the correct time to be booked. With repairs, I know this can sometimes happen last minute, so just as much notice as possible in this case.
• You can upgrade your express mani/pedi to include a scrub & massage for just £7 but this must also be pre booked.
• Please state if you require gel removal upon booking. If you are not having gel reapplied, please be aware that the removal process now includes an express mani/pedi with strengthening treatment. This is to ensure optimal nail health when having a break.
• If you no longer require a soak off or nail art please give me notice(at least 24 hour as per my cancellation policy) as this frees up space in my book to fit in other appointments.
• Gel repairs within 2 weeks of application are provided free of charge(subject to availability). After 2 weeks, repairs are charged dependant on time and detail.
• Please note. I do not repair or remove gel that is not my own work.
Thank you. 💅 💕

Hello everyone,
Lots of pre & post maternity leave info below, please read..🩶
That's my diary now open until my provisional finishing date. As mentioned, I have decided to finish a tad earlier with my last shift being 27th Oct(unless the wee man decides to make a very early appearance or I become unable to work for any reason).
As most of you know I am actually moving house in Oct and I have decided that after my maternity leave I am going to be home based. I apologise to those this may not be suitable for but I have to do what's best for my family. I'm hopeful that it will be suitable for most as it's not far at all from where I was previously based in Erskine & i'll have still have a private studio on the ground floor of my new home. I also apologise for any inconvenience in me moving business location yet again, it was never my intention to have to move 3 times in my 4 years of trading but it's been kind of outwith my control. I appreciate your patience & loyalty more than I could say and hopefully this will be a more longterm solution for me.🩶
After my maternity leave I will be reducing my hours a bit to balance childcare costs so I temporarily won't be accepting any new clients as it will be my priority to acommodate my current existing clients. Don't worry if you are a longterm client and you haven't managed in for a while - as long as you are on my client contact list I will try my best to acommodate but as always please book in advance to avoid disappointment. My business profiles will be marked as temporarily closed to avoid attracting new clients initially but hopefully in time I will be able to accept new clients again.
I have decided not to sell gift vouchers temporarily. This is another thing that I will hopefully bring back in time. Any gift vouchers impacted by my maternity leave will be extended accordingly.
That's all for now. Hope you are all keeping well & I look forward to seeing you soon.🩶

6 weeks growth!💅
Me and this lovely lady were delighted with the growth in her nails but couldn't believe it was nearly 6 weeks since she had the last set put on! You can see how short they were previously with the colours in the first photo, as there had been no chipping/lifting.
I wouldn't usually recommend leaving any nail enhancements on for this long as the nails then become top heavy, and the risk of splitting the natural nail is far greater. In general, if you want to upkeep your gel mani, I would recommend 3-4 weeks between appointments. This does depend on how quickly your natural nails grow and, of course, how you look after your nails after you leave.
You can find full aftercare advice for each service I provide in my instagram highlights and facebook photo album "aftercare."🩶

BUMPDATE🤰🩶
Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a fab weekend & a nice relaxing Sunday. Today, I am officially in my 3rd trimester! How did that happen!?
Within the next few weeks, i'll be starting to slow down a bit.. as previously mentioned, I am slightly reducing my hours by finishing at 5pm on a Friday and reducing my massage timings. I will also need to be mindful of standing for long periods of time as i've started to get pelvic pain when standing too long or walking any distance, so please bear with me. I'm taking a wee bit longer to do things, so apologies if i've run a little behind lately. I'm going to book out extra time to combat this going forward.
I haven't got round to telling you all yet but I am actually now moving house in October(don't do things by halves🤣) so i've decided to finish for maternity leave a tad earlier with my last shift being 27th Oct(unless the wee man decides to make a very early appearance or I become unable to work for any reason). I just feel that after a hectic month, I will need more time to settle than just 10 days before my due date. Hope you all understand.🩶
I will be opening my diary for October this Friday, so if you'd like, you could set a wee reminder to message me to secure your booking. See you all soon.😘
