Way to Glow - Spray Tans Peterborough

These are just 6, but perhaps the most common, reasons why your spray tan might not be lasting as well as it should. Read on to see why👇🏼

🧴Dry skin and spray tans just don’t go hand in hand. Solution sprayed onto dried skin will look crackly so, to combat this, make sure you are moisturising well in the lead up to your appointment but do not moisture on the day of your appointment / wash it off the day before to prevent it acting as a barrier. You can start moisturising again daily once you’ve had the first shower post-appointment.

🚿 Long, hot, showers or baths can cause the top layer of your skin to peel, thus your tan will fade quicker. Instead, shower or bath in lukewarm water and try to keep the time spent in the water to a minimum.

❌ If you do not exfoliate in the 24-48 hours before your appointment, your tan will be applied on older skin cells which will shed themselves, as well as the tan, quicker than it otherwise would.

🪒 Avoid frequent shaving after a spray tan as the razor will give a similar effect as exfoliating or rubbing hard with a towel and the colour will gradually be removed.

🤯 There are a number of no go ingredients that you should really avoid after a spray tan as they can cause premature fading or splotching (check out my separate post on this!)

🛁 Instead of rubbing yourself dry with a towel after a shower or bath, try patting so you are not removing skin cells. Some towels can be rough and almost act like an exfoliator!!

Rapid Rinse (Express) vs. Overnight—Let’s clear it up! ✨

One of the biggest spray tan myths I’ve found? That express tans and overnight tans give different results.

Truth is: both give you the same glow —it’s all about when you rinse, not how dark you get or how long the tan lasts! ✌🏼

Express just lets you rinse sooner (2–4 hrs), while overnight tans require a full 8+ hours. So whether you’re a quick rinse queen or a sleep-in-your-tan babe, you’ll still wake up a bronzed goddess either way ❤️
