Taking a few days of annual leave before maternity leave officially starts has been exactly what I needed.

Between growing a human, running a business and finishing up with clients before July (all during a UK heatwave), I’ve been feeling the need to slow down a little.

Here’s a little snapshot of life lately…

Contrary to Instagram belief… not everyone wants to be in the salon every 8 weeks 🤍

Stacey’s colour appointments are usually around once a year, so everything about this blonde is designed to grow out softly whilst still feeling bright and expensive.

A mix of soft babylights + brighter foilayage pieces keeps dimension through the root whilst still giving those pops of blonde through the ends and regular toning appointments keep that clean finish ✨

And whilst we were ready for a little toning, this is exactly how I want my clients’ colour to age!

It’s taken me a long time to get to this point.

A full diary used to feel like the goal but now it’s more about who fills it.

My clients have built this business with me, and that’s something I’ll never take for granted 🤍

I don’t think I made a conscious decision to step away from social media.

It just…..happened.

This is a bit of an honest reflection on that - and what’s brought me back.

It had been almost a year since our last hair date so Nic was ready for a reset. Blonde up, chop off and blow out complete and she walked out a new woman! ✨

If you drove past in the dark and saw me holding a folder over Lauren’s head during our photoshoot, no you didn’t 🫣

Just leaving this here to show what a huge difference lighting makes to what we see. Same head of hair, same position, just one protected from the overhead lighting and one left exposed.

Quite often in the winter you’ll hear me telling my clients at the end of their appointment to go and look in the natural light or over to my ‘daylight’ mirror in the salon….this is why! Counting down to those brighter evenings ☀️

We’re back! Happy New Year!

I took an extra sneaky few days off over the festive period-for those of you that saw me the last few weeks of December you’ll know it was a crawl to the finish line so thank you again to everyone who allowed me to rejig appointments and put up with my lack of personality.

After a couple of weeks of carbs and family time I’m back in the salon from today and ready for the new year ahead so if you’re still waiting for a reply on any messages sent over the Christmas/NY period then give me a little nudge as you’ve slipped the net.

If you’ve got this far, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my amazing clients that keep me busy. I’m lucky enough to be able to say I love my job but it’s really the people who sit in my chair that make it what it is and as ever, I’m eternally grateful to everyone that supports Black Sheep Hair Company 🙏🏼
