The Star Nursing Home

This afternoon, we had a BBQ at The Star to celebrate an early Father’s Day. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the event and benefited greatly from spending time together and socialising.

A huge shout-out to our Chef Tai, whose delicious food helped make the day extra special. Thank you for all your hard work and for being such an amazing cook.
It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time and creating happy memories together.

Yesterday, our lovely Carol took over the administration role. Within minutes, Marisa and Carole started wondering if they should update their CVs, because Carol wasn’t just going through the diaries—she was also checking the work phones to see how the carers were getting on, like a one-woman admin superhero. 🦸‍♂️

Meanwhile, Carol was as calm as if she were on a spa day, lol. 😂 She didn’t seem under any pressure at all. She sailed through the shift, did a fantastic job, 👍 and looked far too comfortable in the role. At this rate, I think we should ask her if she’d be interested in working part-time in admin before she accidentally takes over the whole office! 🥰

We wanted to let you all know that we will be having a BBQ at The Star on Wednesday, 17th June.

All family and friends are welcome to attend. Please let either me or Marisa know if you will be coming, as it would be lovely to see you there. £5pp

This morning, Jean and Steven spent some time in the garden enjoying the fresh air while sitting together. They both appeared to enjoy the change of atmosphere and were engaged with their surroundings.

During their time outside, they picked lavender and enjoyed smelling it. They appeared relaxed, content, and happy while spending time in the garden, responding positively to the sensory experience and outdoor environment.

The activity benefited them both very well, promoting emotional wellbeing, relaxation, sensory stimulation, and social interaction. They remained settled and comfortable throughout and appeared to enjoy the opportunity to spend time outdoors together.

Yesterday was best friend day our residents reminisced about old memories with there best friends ❤️

This morning Kenneth’s brother travelled all the way from Newcastle to visit him. They were both so delighted to see each other.

It was lovely to see the strong bond between them. 👦💙

We made cards for teacher appreciation week this month we are just waiting on a date to be able to deliver them! Our residents worked so hard creating this we must say we think they did a fantastic job ❤️

Cake you said?! Absolutely we said! We would offer a slice but ate every last bit of this lovely pineapple upside down cake 🍰

We have been busy getting the garden summer ready we are hoping all the bulbs we have planted will hopefully bring us lots of bright colours in the garden in the coming months
