I’ve been holding off posting this update to you all, there have been so many tears and so much self doubt before coming to this decision and finally feeling ready to update you all.
After 4 fabulous years with the girls at Holliewood Beauty my last day in the salon was the 23rd December💔😔
This year has definitely been a very trying time for everyone, the extensive time off work really has tested us all and i have felt so many of my personal struggles being highlighted, in a bittersweet positive it has given me so much additional time to self reflect and understand how I am feeling in myself and pushed me to realise what personal changes I really need to make..

It is after much consideration I have decided I need to cut back and take a step back work wise in order to have a better work/life balance and be happier in myself. With that being said I will now be working solely from home, with reduced hours and clientele. I will be in touch with clients personally.
This definitely has not been an easy decision in the slightest but I hope you can all understand this is in the best interest for me💛
Although I would have really liked to have let you all know about this change personally, I felt this was the easiest and fairest way to let everyone know at the same time initially, but I will give this news a little time to settle and I will be in contact with all clients personally in due course to update you all, please be patient and let me contact you when I am ready, I am feeling very overwhelmed sharing this news with you all and I have an extensive list of over 150 clients to contact, it is going to take me a bit of time💗

I really cannot thank Hollie enough for welcoming me to team Holliewood with open arms and giving me the best opportunity at being self employed, I am so thankful having you as my friend and supporting me with this decision and wishing the best for me💗

And of course to my wonderful clients, I am eternally grateful for your custom and loyalty, my journey so far would not have been possible without each and every one of you - thank you all from the bottom of my heart💗💗💗

I will try and keep this post as upbeat as possible and I would like to start off by saying how thankful I am to all of my loyal clients who have supported me through what has been the most difficult year for my business I am thankful for each and every one of you💗💗
and all other independent businesses alike, sending lots of love to you all just now, I know we are all feeling it🖤🖤

I’m sure many of us didn’t anticipate for things to still be as they are, I was hopeful normality in the salon would have resumed long before now and I’m sure many others are feeling as deflated as I am that we haven’t progressed further,
This brings me on to the 2 important topics I feel now necessary for me to address with my clients,

On returning post lockdown I mentioned I regretfully had to increase pricing for my services, as awful as I feel doing so it really is for me to be able to keep afloat as a business, I am still having to buy a lot of single use and disposable items, alongside a hefty amount of cleaning and sanitising products,
I have needed to cover costs of additional hair colour product used for root covers after 15+ weeks of regrow the for the majority of my clients and extended appointment times,
and most importantly I have been extremely limited in the number of clients I can accommodate per day, this is the biggest hardship for me at the moment and the thing that is having the biggest impact on my business in combination with all of the other factors mentioned above.
I promise this isn’t a pity post😣
I. Hate. Talking. Money.
All of my clients who know me, know how awkward this makes me feel, and how often I joke I wish I could do my job for free😅
But I’m struggling now, I’m struggling with the idea working additional long hours with half my usual income, of course we are all having to make sacrifices just now but bills still need to be paid,
I’m doing my very best to make the most of this situation I have so much to be thankful for and I loved every lockdown transformation and seeing all of your lovely faces again even if it’s from the eyes up🥺🤭
Thank you to every client that has been through the door since my return, your support means more to me than you can understand💗
I just feel like I needed to explain myself again because sadly it doesn’t look like it’s going to change in the near future and this is completely out of my control,
I’m disappointed but please understand increasing my prices as I have been is still not compensating for the loss of earnings and it’s the only way possible to manage as a business going forward at the moment I’m sorry😔

This brings me to the second topic I have to mention, another I hate having to enforce and avoid at the best of times; last minute cancellations and missed appointments - i have had a policy in place for a long time and in the past I have let this slide because I feel guilty charging for a service you have not received - but in the current climate I cannot afford to be at any more of a loss than I already have been sadly, please please give me as much notice as possible for rescheduling & cancelling appointments is all I ask, I don’t want to have to charge anyone but again this is out of my control, this is my job and my time and is absolutely not personal
