To all my lovely customers , some of you have become really good friends.

I’ve been struggling with hairdressing and other physical work for a long time now and especially during periods of flare ups. It’s been a long time coming and I’ve put this off as long as I can but here it is.

I need to stop hairdressing and other physical work, possibly for good or until I’m in a long term remission.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia around 2 years ago and have inflammatory bowel disease and already take pills for anxiety. I realise this is too much information for some but I prefer to be honest.

Unfortunately it’s very difficult for me to continue as I’m having so many flare ups now. It has been a very hard decision as I don’t want to let my customers down.

I love my job but my body doesn’t love it. I hope you will understand and wish me well with what I’m doing next. I’m studying psychology and counselling and hope to offer talking therapy in the future and work in mental health.

(I’m also looking out for hairdressing teaching roles but haven’t been successful in that so far). I'm also doing some event organising and have a craft day event in blandford soon!

If you would like me to recommend a hairdresser or barber to you please feel free to message me because I know lots and they have different specialities.

They are also hiring at Madison Beauty Studio, and I know my clients love this location, so I’m sure once a new stylist starts there you may want to return to give them a try. It’s a rather lovely salon after all! I’ll be returning regularly for treatments as there is such a lovely team there!

Madison has kindly said I can return for odd days if and when I’m up to it so I’ll announce on this page if I do. At the moment I’ll be retiring from behind the chair but who knows what the future holds. I might pop up at a fashion event sometime which has been my passion for the last 4-5 years.

I especially want to thank all the lovely stylists & beauticians I have worked with many of whom are great friends, my family and friends who have supported me on this incredible journey including my daughter in law Riana, who helped me to get Hello Hair off the ground, and Glen for everything!

And of course last but definitely not least my mentors in the industry who have helped me to overcome imposter syndrome and be confident in myself, for which I’ll be forever grateful, Karoliina, Diego & Stacey.
