Facial Rejuvenation in time for Christmas🙏🏼🎄

This stunning lady came to see me following significant weight loss, wanting to rejuvenate her face and restore lost volume. Weight loss can be incredible for overall health, but it often results in facial fat loss, which can make the face appear tired or aged.

My approach is always bespoke. I take the time to listen carefully to what my clients don’t love about their face, and from there, guide them toward the most elegant and effective solution. The answer isn’t always where you think — and true results come from looking at the face as a whole.

In this case, her concern was her nasolabial folds. Rather than immediately filling this area, we restored volume to the cheeks, where the most structural support had been lost, and subtly enhanced the jawline. This lifted and rebalanced the face beautifully, meaning only a minimal amount of filler was required directly in the folds.

We also added a subtle amount of filler to the chin to improve proportions and create a more defined profile.

The result is a refreshed, balanced appearance that still looks completely like her.

To complete the look, we freshened up her brows with a combination brow treatment 😍

Brow correction with Combination Brows ❤️

Not every brow journey starts fresh! This one was a little tricky 👀 - covering up very old microblading (not my work) while reshaping the brows. The previous brows were very rounded, so we evened out the shape to create a more defined, lifted look.

Our goals were to:

✨ Reshape for a more defined + lifted look

✨ Balance out symmetry (one brow was naturally more sparse from overplucking)

✨ Add depth + softness for a natural finish

👉 We went with a Combo brow 🤌🏼 - mixing microbladed strokes for that fluffy hair-like effect, with shading to add density where it was needed most.

⚠️ Important to know: cover-ups aren’t always possible. If previous microblading is too dark, saturated or uneven, laser removal may be required first to achieve the best result.

Here, the old work was faded enough that we could successfully cover and enhance - giving our client a fresh new brow shape they can feel confident in 🤎

What are Combo Brows I hear you ask? ⬇️

A mix of microblading (fine hair strokes performed by a handheld blade) and shading (a soft powder machine finish).

Why do people love them?

🔹 They look super natural but still defined

🔹 Ideal if you like a fluffy brow with a bit more depth.

🔹 Great for all skin types (including oily, where microblading alone can fade quicker)

🔹 They heal beautifully and last well

Combo brows are especially perfect if:

➡️ You want brows that look fuller without pencilling them in every day

☕🍷 Caffeine & Alcohol: Why They Don’t Mix with Semi-Permanent Makeup!

When it comes to Microblading, some small dots of blood are completely normal- your skin is delicate, the brow area is highly vascularised, and the pigment goes into the dermal layer.

The brow area has the supraorbital artery supplying blood and the supraorbital vein draining it. These superficial vessels are fragile and close to the skin’s surface - perfectly fine for daily life, but very relevant during microblading!

When you consume caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, cola, etc) or alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment:

- Both can increase blood flow and blood pressure, making capillaries more prone to bleeding.

- Alcohol can also thin the blood, compounding the effect.

This results in more bleeding than usual, which makes the skin slippery and harder to work on. 😟

💉 Why this matters to you:

- Pigment retention decreases because blood prevents the pigment from properly settling into the strokes.

- More bleeding requires me to work repeatedly over the same area, causing extra trauma to the skin. Not what we want!

- Excess trauma increases healing time and can lead to uneven pigment retention, patchiness, or scabbing. 😖

- Longer sessions than originally anticipated.

- Prone to more sensitivity.

✅ The best approach and one I always ask is to avoid caffeine and alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment, please. This simple step helps your skin stay calmer, pigment set properly, and your brows heal beautifully - giving cleaner, longer-lasting results.

In some instances I will refuse to go ahead with the treatment if it's brought to my knowledge prior to starting. However, be warned, we always know when caffiene has been consumed! 😅

Remember: small dots of blood during Microblading are expected and are normal, but alcohol or caffeine can make the difference huge, turning a simple procedure into a trickier, longer, and less predictable session. ❤️

My beautiful client came in today for a fresh set of combo brows – the perfect mix of microblading + machine shading. 🪄

We actually did her brows about 4 years ago with just microblading, but her skin just wouldn’t retain the pigment. This time we tried something different… and what a difference! LOVEEEEE 😍

We added soft, natural strokes through the sparse fronts, with some light shading, and then shaded more heavily through the tails for that extra definition – while still keeping everything beautifully natural. 🤍

Dermaplaning: Myths vs Truths! 🥸

Myth 1: Dermaplaning makes your hair grow back thicker. 🙄

Truth: Nope! Facial hair grows back exactly the same. It might feel a bit stiffer at first, but that’s just because the hair is cut bluntly - over time it softens naturally.

Myth 2: Dermaplaning is just to get rid of hair. 🤭

Truth: The main goal isn’t hair removal. Dermaplaning exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells and peach fuzz to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Hair removal is just a bonus.

Myth 3: You can do makeup immediately after. ❌️

Truth: You're advised to wait 24 hours before applying makeup. Your skin is freshly exfoliated and sensitive, and this little break helps prevent irritation and lets your skin fully absorb serums and moisturisers.

Myth 4: It’s painful. 😆

Truth: When done by a professional with professional equipment, it’s gentle and relaxing - it should absolutely not pull or catch on the skin, and should not feel painful!

That deep, rich colour you see is peak saturation - the pigment is sitting on the surface and your lips are a little swollen.

Over the next 4–6 weeks, your lips will exfoliate and heal, and you’ll lose around 40–60% of that intensity.

It’s totally normal. It’s how the process works.

To set expectations, Lip blush isn’t lipstick. It’s a soft tint that enhances your natural shape and colour - a blush for your lips, not a solid block of colour.

This photo is healed results after one session using a rather brave pigment shade that appeared to be very vibrant in the bottle and straight after treatment. My client and I both thought it would heal more vibrant in all honesty, but after just one session, the results are really beautiful!
