Well it finally looks as though 12th April could be the day for reopening 😁 down side is I've been waiting for a hospital appointment for months and it came through a few days ago for the 13th, i think Boris is trying to wind me up.

So we are in lockdown again and i think most thought it was coming. Let's hope things soon improve for all our sakes and i hope to see you all again as soon as its considered safe to reopen. In the meantime stay safe and Happy New year.

Interesting but very tiring first week back at work, suprised that after almost three and a half months and for some longer without a hair cut about 8 out of 10 people had got used to having longer hair and didn't want much off .
A few asked to have it shorter than usual as they fear another lockdown coming.
Let's hope not.

Very surprised today how most people that came in the salon had coped so well with their hair after many months of doing it themselves just one or two chunks missing here and there that couldn't be rectified. No names mentioned . 😁

Preparing for 4th July and measuring and marking up for social distancing.

Well finally able to re open from 4th July,However things will be different than what we have been used to but for good reason and in all our best interests.
All customers will have to wear a face mask, i will also be wearing a face mask and visor, and sanitising will have to take place after each customer so extra time between appointments will be necessary and therefore the amount of customers each day will be limited,so i think it only fare to everyone that longer jobs such as perms,colours and hilites etc are done the following week,giving more opportunities for people to have that long awaited hair cut.

Also from the 4th july appointments must be made through phoning the salon rather than walking in so as to comply with social distancing.

From what I have heard it may be possible for hairdressers to open again from the 4th July but no doubt Boris will let us know in due course !

Just as a matter of interest, these are the rules for salons in Germany who have just reopened, i noticed it says blow dry should be avoided...i would imagine it could circulate the
Virus if someone was infected !

Germany's new rules:

Cuts are by appointment only to avoid customers waiting in the salon

Customers and hairdressers must keep a 1.5m distance except when the haircut is taking place

Customers and hairdressers must wear face masks

"Direct communication" is not permitted - discussion about hair style, colour etc must be done via a mirror and kept to a minimum

No blow-drying, if possible

Fresh air must be circulated, which the rules specify should be 100m3/h per hairdresser

Scissors and other tools must be thoroughly disinfected between uses, as well as hairdressing chairs

Hairdressing cloaks must be washed after each use and, if possible, a disposable cloak should be worn over the top

Customers must wash their hands when entering the salon

I believe Germany is allowing hair salons to open 6 weeks after lockdown, but with strict rules, i believe face mask must be worn, no supply of beverages and no magazines...wonder if we may follow suit.
