I had a birthday that got me a free eye test mid August, thank you for the many messages - here’s to “the best decade ever” as one of my birthday cards read!

Pic below left is the pump I used to fill 10,000 bottles of Original King of Shaves shaving oil, the year Pete Sampras beat Andre Agassi in the Wimbledon final

Pic below right features 2 ads we ran once in FHM, Loaded, Maxim with probably 2 headlines that defined what KoS delivered - not just by then for millions, but also for me.

Also my giant Azor razor that had me held up in customs in Japan, China, Australia and the USA. Guess the X Ray baggage scanners were somewhat mystified.

With Summer 2025 over, and gale force autumnal winds of change blowing hard on the South Coast today, enough glancing in the rear view mirror, time to focus on the front windscreen.

“I was 27 when I founded King of Shaves in April 1993 following redundancy & my parents supported me, investing £2.5K in my ‘seed capital raise’ of £17.5K.

The rest, I guess, is history.

Dad’s 93 this year, Mum sadly passed away in early 2023. I'm fortunate to have turned their initial investment into "A LOT" when they sold their shares in 2004, giving them a financial freedom unimaginable to them as teachers at schools in Lowestoft.

Mum donated to loads of animal welfare charities, she loved all birds and animals. Dad learned to fly in his 70’s and bought a small plane flying out of Beccles near Lowestoft, my home town.

I owe my belief in myself and my success to my parents - so lucky - and hopefully this sentiment will resonate with you and yours.

Love you Mum (RIP) & Dad, without you there’d be no me, and definitely no King of Shaves”.
