Emotional IQ Club
Welcome to Emotional IQ Club. Research notes on love, dating, and human behavior. Some people are writing emotional PhDs.
Others are still asking if attendance in Emotional Responsibility 101 is optional.
So apparently modern romance now comes with a subscription fee. đ
You spend a good hour crafting the perfect dating profile.
Nice photos âď¸
Witty bio âď¸
Personality shining through âď¸
You finally feel ready to see who liked youâŚ
âŚand the app goes:
âSomeone likes you! đ Unlock their photo with Premium.â
Excuse me?
Youâre telling me thereâs a human being out there who might like my face, my personality, my carefully chosen âI swear Iâm normalâ photos⌠and I have to pay money just to see them??
This is basically emotional pay-per-view.
Dating apps be like:
âLove is priceless⌠but curiosity costs ÂŁ14.99/month.â
Honestly, at this point Iâm expecting the next feature to be:
⢠£3.99 to read a message
⢠£6.99 to see if they have hair on their back
⢠£9.99 to confirm theyâre not a bot named Kevin from Mars
Meanwhile Iâm over here like:
Listen. If someone likes me, just show me the face.
Let me admire the effort, the courage, the bravery.
Donât blur them like theyâre a classified government document.
Romance shouldnât require a Netflix subscription.
Let people see each other for free.
The heartbreak can still be premium. đ
Hereâs a modern relationship truth nobody talks about:
Words are cheap now.
Not because people are evil.
Because technology made beautiful words extremely easy.
You can literally open ChatGPT and type:
âWrite a romantic message that will make a woman feel special.â
And boom.
ÂŤâGood morning beautiful. Just wanted you to know youâre amazing and I canât stop thinking about you.âÂť
Perfect grammar. Perfect tone.
10/10 emotional performance.
Meanwhile the man who sent it:
⢠disappears for 12 hours
⢠forgets what you said yesterday
⢠replies âhahaâ to your three-sentence message
But donât worry â tomorrow morning the poetry returns.
Hereâs the thing though:
Words are the trailer.
Behavior is the movie.
Anyone can deliver a great trailer.
But if the movie is three hours of buffering, confusion, and ghostingâŚ
Iâm leaving the cinema.
So these days I donât listen to what a man says first.
I watch what he does.
Because attention, consistency, effort, curiosity, initiative â those things are much harder to fake.
Even for AI.
And gentlemen, if youâre reading this:
Donât worry about finding the perfect words.
Just show up.
Pay attention.
Be consistent.
Congratulations.
Youâve already outperformed 80% of the competition.
No software required. đ
Apparently asking for a man who is consistent, honest, emotionally mature and actually interested is now considered âasking for too much.â
Interesting.
Because after a woman has lived through enough emotional Olympics, she usually stops negotiating on the basics.
So when someone says a woman wants âeverythingâ, letâs translate what that terrifying âeverythingâ actually means:
⢠Consistency
Not vanishing like Wi-Fi in a tunnel.
⢠Honesty
Not sending mixed signals that require a PhD in cryptography to decode.
⢠Initiative
A man who occasionally moves things forward instead of spectating like itâs a tennis match.
⢠Gentleness
Basic emotional intelligence. Revolutionary concept, I know.
⢠Chemistry
Because if weâre doing all this effort, there should at least be a little spark and not the romantic energy of two coworkers discussing spreadsheets.
Thatâs it. Thatâs the terrifying âALLâ.
Not a billionaire.
Not a superhero.
Just⌠a grown man.
Funny how the moment a woman learns her worth, suddenly the bare minimum starts looking like high standards.
But hereâs the secret:
Men capable of giving these things do exist.
Theyâre just not interested in auditioning for roles where the bar is buried somewhere underground.
So yes⌠âall of course.â đ
Some people think immaturity is cute and romantic.
Itâs not.
Itâs just confusion with good cheekbones.
Real love isnât built on potential.
Potential is what people offer when they donât plan to deliver anything else.
And youâre not a bookmark someone returns to when the other storylines collapse.
Youâre the main character.
If someone treats you like a backup chapter, feel free to close the book.

đđđ
If heâs not sure about you? Thatâs not a maybe. Thatâs a hard pass. đŤ
Heâs not showing up. Heâs not contributing. Meanwhile, youâre over here running your life like a CEO, building empires, and still looking fabulous. đ
â¨
You love YOU. Because youâre awesome đ and rare â and crumbs? Please, we donât do crumbs.
If someone wants a seat at your table, they better bring the main meal, not some sad snacks from a corner shop. Step up, decide, and actually earn it.
Reality check: if they havenât really chosen you, why are you even letting them peek at the menu? đ
Some people spend years obsessing over a tiny crumb of a human.
Meanwhile, the universe is a full dessert buffet, rainbow-colored, sparkling, and emotionally available. đđ°
You? Youâre not here for crumbs. Youâre here for the whole cake, the bakery, maybe even the dessert aisle.
So if someone canât handle your layers, your sprinkles, or your frosting⌠let them chase crumbs. Youâre swimming in the deep, vivid, adult section of the ocean. đłđ

Todayâs observation from the Emotional IQ Club:
Chemistry is easy.
Two people can have chemistry while completely misunderstanding each other, avoiding difficult conversations, and disappearing whenever things get real.
Compatibility, however, requires a slightly more advanced course.
It includes skills like:
⢠communication
⢠emotional accountability
⢠consistency
⢠and the radical concept of actually showing up.
In conclusion:
Chemistry may start the experiment.
But emotional intelligence is what keeps the research project alive.
