Due to some cancellations because of our best friend covid Iv had two slots become available. I’m fully booked (unless covid strikes again) for the rest of the week so these are my last spaces this year.

As a barber/hairdresser how you look does matter. I’m not saying you have to be a solid 10 Christ I’m lucky if I’m over 5 😂. What I’m saying is take some pride in how you look, make sure your nails are cut, make sure your hair is done and keep on top of your personal hygiene.

For a new client coming to your shop, they will base an opinion on the first time they lay eyes on you, it sounds harsh but it’s natural human behaviour we all do it so don’t take it to heart. So knowing that you want to make that first opinion a good one.

Lastly your client is trusting you with making them look good, now if you can’t even be bothered to make yourself look good then why should they trust you to make them look good?

Obviously as humans we are all different, so this is a general rule. You do not want to wash your hair everyday with shampoo, why? Your scalp naturally produces oil which is good for your scalp and hair. Washing it everyday will strip this natural oil before it can do its job. On the other hand not washing your hair enough means that natural oil will build up and this isn’t good for your scalp either. If you find you have naturally oily hair then try washing it every other day, if you have naturally dry hair try every three days.

This one might ruffle a few feathers 😂. If someone is being paid by a product company they have to tell you it’s good, it’s literally what they are paid for. If they are an ambassador or what ever else they wanna call them selves they are literally paid to sell you product. Please stop taking everything they say as gospel, you don’t need 15 pairs of clippers with different blades on them, the last thing that truly was a game changer was the half guard, since then nothing has changed the game no matter how many times they say it has. No clipper will make you good at fading, even if it has a ‘fade blade’ on it, the arm/hand/brain attached to clipper is what will make you good at fading. Please save your money.

This isn’t a rant at people who work for product/clipper company’s everyone needs to make there own paper and there are some great opportunities to be taken with clipper company’s, just as a consumer please remember that these people are literally paid to sell product/ promote it so just don’t believe everything that’s said. Ask people that are not paid by the company for their honest unbiased reviews and make your decision if you need that 8th clipper 👌.

If you use a hairdryer, what product you use, how much product you use, if you apply the product to wet or dry hair, there are so many factors to styling hair and it’s not your job to know what’s best for your hair, it’s ours so ask!

If your stressing this will come across in your service, one of the most common things my clients have said to me since Iv increased my appointment times, is how much more relaxing the environment is and how they enjoy it more.

I know not every single person can increase their appointment times but maybe you can come up with other ideas to make your day less stressful. Split your lunch break up over the day could be one of them?

I’m promising you, stressing will have a huge impact on your own health and the quality of work that you produce. Don’t get me wrong you have to work hard to succeed, but I will take a small pay cut in the short term to make sure I’m less stressed and I’m giving a much better service to each and every client, because every si brow one of them is important.
