Personal Assistant (PA) – Part-Time | Blakely MIDDLETON

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable and professional Personal Assistant to support Jenson (not his real name), a young boy with complex medical needs, in his family home. This is a rewarding role for someone calm, observant and child-centred who can provide safe, consistent care while helping Jenson enjoy a happy and fulfilling daily life.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care with dignity, including washing, dressing, continence care and oral care.
• Support feeding, hydration, medication and respiratory care including Non invasive ventilation,
• following training and care plans.
• Monitor Jenson’s wellbeing, recognise changes in his condition, and respond appropriately.
• Use moving and handling equipment safely and help maintain comfort throughout shifts.
• Encourage communication, play, sensory activities and positive daily experiences.
• Keep accurate records and work closely with family members and professionals.
• Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Who We’re Looking For
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs is desirable.
• A calm, caring and reliable approach, especially during periods of illness or deterioration.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with families and professionals.
• Willingness to complete training, follow care plans and learn specialist clinical tasks.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
• Driver over the age of 25 for insurance purposes
• Comfortable working in a family home
Hours

20 hours a week for 4 days Monday, Wednesday Thursday Friday although some flexibility can be discussed.
10-3.00pm

Pay

£15.71 per hour

We're now taking bookings for haircuts for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities who find a visit to the barbers or hairdressers challenging. Our hairdresser, Chloe, is looking forward to seeing you in July and August.

Thursday 23rd July is a shorter session of 30 min appointments only.

Sunday 2nd August is a full day of appointments, both 30 min and 45 min.

Please book the 45 min appointments for very matted hair, a complete restyle or for children who really struggle with haircuts and need more time. We would recommend 45 mins for any child who has not seen Chloe before.

Your child does not need a diagnosis. You do not need to live in Bury to use this service - some of our families come some distance to attend!

Job Title: Personal Assistant for 16 year

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour and expenses paid
Hours: 5 hours a week
This role is very flexible and will be mainly weekends,
We are seeking a confident, experienced PA to support a delightful, fun, energetic 16 year old who lives in BURY with his family and Pet dog
This is a long-term role with a welcoming family.
Jack (not his real name) loves to access a variety of activities such as , swimming, arts and crafts and football.
He enjoys going to the cinema, bowling and walking his dog
Jack thrives from 1 to 1 attention and will express his joy and happiness. To support his speech Jack uses an iPad to communicate what he wants.

Responsibilities:
• To take Jack out to his favorite places
• To ensure he is safe at all times
• To encourage and support jack to use his iPad to communicate
• To continue to promote his independence where possible

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience supporting young people with cerebral palsy
• A patient, playful, and attentive approach to care.
• Willingness to learn
• Someone who is reliable and consistent, and able to build long-term trust with Jack and family.

Requirements:
• Enhanced DBS (processed and funded after successful application).
• Willingness to undergo any training
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Location: Rochdale / Manchester Metropolitan University

About the Role

I am looking for two reliable and personable Personal Assistants to support me with personal care and cleaning. These are practical, hands-on roles that require someone dependable, professional and comfortable providing morning support.

Some shifts will take place at Manchester Metropolitan University during term time, so you will need to be comfortable working on a university campus. Travel between Rochdale and the university may be required, so flexibility is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal care, including morning routines
• Cleaning and general upkeep of my room
• Driving to and between locations as required
Person Specification

• Full, clean UK driving licence – essential
• Experience with personal care or manual handling – preferred
• Reliable, professional and discreet
• Comfortable in a university setting
• Flexible and able to work around a changing university timetable
• Well suited to a relaxed, informal environment
Hours
