Why do we choose to pierce ears with a single-use sterilized needle?

Needles result in less tissue trauma, shorter healing time, and an overall more hygienic piercing procedure than piercing with a piercing gun. Needles also allow for your piercers to get a more precise angle for the perfect piercing.

Using a needle to create a piercing is generally considered safer and more precise than using a gun.

Piercing guns have several problems, including tissue damage, blunt force trauma and scarring, which can affect the final result or even shatter ear cartilage.

Whilst there are risks associated with any piercings, the benefits of using a single needle far outweigh the risks of using a piercing gun.

Piercing guns are also impossible to sterilise fully, increasing the risk of infection further and cross contamination.
