DOES EXERCISE IMPROVE SKIN HEALTH?

By increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and keep them vital. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to working cells throughout the body, including the skin. In addition to providing oxygen, blood flow also helps carry away waste products, including free radicals, from working cells.

Each skin cell has mitochondria, the engines of the cell. They make a chemical known as ATP that fuels all cell functions. ATP is needed to repair skin damage and make components that keep skin young, like collagen and hyaluronic acid.

With age, however, mitochondria start to make less ATP. Exercise has been shown to improve mitochondrial function, weight and endurance training in particular boosts mitochondrial function and studies have shown that this can improve skin health at a cellular level.

Ultrasound is an incredibly powerful and yet gentle method of skin rejuvenation. It works by delivering focused ultrasonic energy through the layers of the Facial tissues. It can stimulate the dermal layer without damaging the stratum corneum, the outer layer of our skin.

This can include either or both of the following:

Ultrasonic Cleansing
After an initial cleanse the face is spritzed with a natural hydrasol then an ultrasonic spatula is moved across the surface of the skin for a gentle yet deep cleanse of the pores.
This method cleans the skin much more effectively and deeply than any other method available. The ultrasound is capable of clearing cellular debris and oxidised waste from the skin, this improves and brightens the complexion and prevents the repeat appearance of blemishes. Highly recommended for all skins but especially anyone prone to acne or who would like clearer skin.

Sonophoresis
This is the use of low frequency, ultra sonic sound waves for the infusion of active ingredients such as vitamins and hyaluronic acid into the skin.
