Little back story on me & my make up journey 🥰

When I was younger I started to suffer with depression, I left school in year 9 due to this & I never sat my GCSES, I’ve never really known what I wanted to do with myself but I’ve always had a love for make up since being a teenager, I actually went to college in 2016 to study beauty at walkden college but it wasn’t for me at the time I didn’t enjoy the hair side to beauty, 2 years go by I really felll in love with doing make up on myself & people always commented on my make up suggesting I should train & take apppintments! At the time I laughed it off as there is so many make up artists in the area there is so much competition, then one day I woke up & thought no abit of healthy competition is good it motivated me more! So I went to I went to connections the careers office to get some advice on where’s best for me to train & they sent me in the direction of a private new college that was starting make up course right near me, but it was a level 3 VTCT & the careers officer took one look at my history in education history and said I quote & you won’t get accepted it’s the equivalent to an A Level & you haven’t even got a gcse’ but I walked out of her office with my head held high and applied anyway and got accepted! So I started the course & got 2 months in when it came around our tutors were getting the sack for many reasons! Which was a little set back as they got us a new tutor, then covid hit and ruined everything, there manchester college went bust & they wanted us to travel to bradford which just wasn’t do able for me & the rest of the girls. When I wasn’t at college I was taking make up appointments for £10 to build my portfolio, get my self out there & build up confidence, I literally only had 1 client per week some weeks none ! But I wasn’t letting it stop me, and I’m glad as I started to get more & more clients that one weekend I got 10 girls choose ME to do there make up!! I was over the moon and felt my hard work was starting to pay off but yet again, the weekend after borris announced lockdown and that was it for few months. I then got pregnant & lost all motivation to do anything, I still took clients here & there but I thought I’d lost my love for it, my little boy arrived in April & I finally found the confidence around 2 months ago to start taking clients back up & go and finally get my qualification. So here I am now on a plouise course who is the person I look up to the most in this industry! & taking clients for £15 to get myself seen & build my self back up! I Know there is make up artists out there that are better than me but I am so appreciative of the girls that do come to me and have done since day 1! ❤️❤️
