🏏 U17s Match Report 🏏

A fantastic all-round team performance saw our U17s secure a 14-run victory over Burnmoor this evening at The Green Drive! 👏

Batting first, Dawdon posted a competitive 116/6 from our 20 overs. Kai Kennedy anchored the innings brilliantly with an unbeaten 37 from 34 balls*, while Vinnie Richards provided excellent support with 26 from 29 deliveries.

Our bowlers then made the perfect start, reducing Burnmoor to 27/6 thanks to a sensational opening spell. Charlie Stott was simply outstanding, claiming 4 wickets for just 6 runs from his 4 overs to put Dawdon firmly in control. 💥

Burnmoor fought back with a resilient 63-run partnership for the 7th wicket, but U13 player Ethan Lloyd stepped up to break the stand with an impressive 2/6, helping bowl Burnmoor out for 102 in the 19th over.

🏏 1XI Match Report 🏏

Yesterday our 1XI travelled to Durham City looking to continue their league campaign.

Batting first, Dawdon were bowled out for 113 in 31.1 overs, with vice-captain Brad Robinson top scoring with a fighting 49. Unfortunately, the rest of the batting line-up couldn't build on his efforts, leaving us with a below-par total to defend.

Durham City made light work of the chase, reaching 115-0 in just 12 overs to secure a 10-wicket victory.

A disappointing result, but one we'll learn from. The lads will dust themselves down and be ready to go again next weekend.

🏏 U19 Match Report 🏏

This scorching evening our U19s made the trip to Blackhall and produced a ln impressive team performance to come away with a 29-run victory. 💪🔥

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Dawdon made the most of the conditions. A superb 112-run partnership for the second wicket between Cevat Sahin and Jaxon Head laid the foundations for a commanding total. Jaxon contributed a valuable 42, while Cevat stole the show with a sensational unbeaten 102 from just 68 balls, finding the boundary with ease and taking the attack to all parts of the ground to score his first ever century.
