It's all about the brow for today's makeover. My client loves the laminated brow look. They are definitely show stopping for her night out tonight.

What’s the difference between soft and full glam?

I often find when I’m doing a make over clients are unsure about the style of make up they want, to the untrained eye there can be confusion when it comes to recognising subtle difference and there are choices to be made depending on the reason why you want your make over. So you know the difference I’m covering the differences here in this blog.

Soft glam
Whether your wanting to ramp up your every-day make up or tone down your usual full glam appearance soft glam could be for you. We are all individuals and your make over should be what makes you feel beautiful, comfortable and confident.

If you are used to wearing less make up a soft glam look could be perfect for you by enhancing your natural features rather than overpowering them you. For example soft glam can be a perfect alternative to full glam for a special occasion or for your wedding day. It’s a classic timeless make up look that focusses on enhancing natural beauty using neutral colours to suit your own colouring. With soft glam there should be no harsh lines or heavy make up The skin should be glowing, soft and natural. Eyes should be enhanced and softly blended with smudgy eyeliner rather than a defined line that is often used in full glam makeovers. The smudgy line is flattering on almost everybody and you can ring the changes on colour, for example, if you have brown or hazel eyes black can look nice but equally a subtle maroon or purple liner could look great. For blue eyes copper and browns are fantastic.

If you are looking to be a soft glam bride this could be perfect. Thinking about longevity is key on your wedding day, it may be necessary to wear a little more make up than you usually do to ensure it lasts through the ceremony, complements professional flash photography, resists tear jerking speeches and looks good right through to your reception.

Whilst soft glam is beautiful it isn’t for everyone so if this is a wedding day make over it’s important to trial the make up ahead of time so your feel confident. Full glam

Full glam is a make up style that embraces bold dramatic and highly stylized features to create a glamorous and striking appearance. This look is often associated with special occasions where your really want an eye catching look.

This makeover includes intense foundation to create a flawless airbrushed complexion. Contouring is more pronounced emphasising strong cheekbones, a sculptured nose and a defined jawline. Eyes are generally enhanced by vibrant bold colours and make include shimmer, glitter or metallic finishes. False eyelashes and winged or graphic liquid liner and precision bold brows give added impact provide greater definition to the eyes whilst bold lip colours can make a statement to complete the dramatic look.

Prom night, black tie dinners or just a special night out with the girls can really ‘up your game’ to make you feel really special. Experimenting with different colours is also a great option.
