Streamline Medicals

I am so fortunate to have these amazing athletes in my life. These are my lane mates. They keep me going and push me along, yet give me grace when my performance is not at its best. We are the nutters who do middle distance sets every morning when others are still asleep in their beds!

Thanks to Helen Gorman and Freestyle Media for inviting me to talk about my English Channel training and the swim that never started. Listen to how I prepared for the swim and then dealt with the disappointment of not being able to swim! Thanks also to Sarah Fitzgerald-Smith for being a fabulous guest and I really enjoyed recording this with you!

The competition is drawing to a close, with just some relays to complete (watch this space). These medics have been an absolute joy to work with. Francois and Diego aren’t on IG so I cant tag them. .starosolski will be glad to get back home I think 😂 and has been the best room buddy and partner in crime this week. Hopefully this is just the start of a beautiful IISA medic journey!

Nearly through the toughest event, the 1km. Water temp 2.5 today so bit warmer than it’s been since the competition started. Absolutely exhausted, but it’s so much fun! We’ve got lovely banter and teamwork amongst the medics .starosolski and the athletes are absolute warriors 💪🏻

The amazingly talented and very funny medical team for the championships. It is busy but I am loving being a part of their team!

For those of you who are English Channel swimmers, you will appreciate the joy I had meeting these two legends

broke the English Channel world record in 2007 in 6 hours 57 minutes and is the current world record holder in 6 hours 45 minutes.

This week I will be supporting the I am loving the coat they have given me!

Really excited to be one of the official doctors supporting the International Ice Swimming Association European championships in Molveno! Look forward to making sure all the competitors are looked after and safe. And the superstar that is Mermedic is coming too! Good luck especially to all those selected for IISA Great Britain

Being the medic today swimming championships and I can confirm that it’s REALLY cold 😂 water iced up and I’m regretting not bringing my costume to get in the mobile sauna!
