A new and exciting Ninja Trail is to be installed at the Blackberry Lane Adventure and Skate Park this Autumn.
After listening to requests for more play equipment to be available in the town for a slightly older age group and consulting with the Sherborne Youth Council we decided on a smaller scale Ninja Warrior style course.
The course includes slanted steps, a climbing slope, monkey bars and a warrior ramp as well as a stopwatch to be able to see how fast the course can be completed by yourself or with friends.
Ninja trails are sports & fitness obstacle courses for children from eight years upwards and teenagers. Equipment can be used to develop strength, endurance, reflection, agility and speed.
The trail is partly funded by the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner Op Relentless Fund, following an application for a ‘Sports, Fitness and Recreation Project in Sherborne.’
The official opening will involve the Sherborne Youth Council and be held in October this year.

This has been reported to the police and CCTV footage is being looked at.
If anyone has any information about this incident please get in touch with Sherborne Police and we urge anyone who sees anything like this taking place to report it by ringing 101.

On Saturday 27th June 2026, the Mayor of Sherborne, Cllr Suresh Jeganathan was joined by members of the Royal British Legion which included the Chairman of the Sherborne & District branch, David Bows, along with others from the branch and Sir Andrew Graham, Dorset County President of the Royal British Legion, for the dedication of a new war memorial, situated on the Abbey Green.
Reverend Martin Lee lead the dedication with a prayer and blessing of the bench.
Steve Shield, Sherborne Town Clerk said, “This new all forces memorial bench is a simple but powerful way for Sherborne to say thank you to all who have served. It means a great deal to us to work so closely with the Royal British Legion Sherborne & District Branch, and we hope this spot becomes a special place for quiet reflection and remembrance at the heart of our town”.
A big thank you to everyone that came along for the dedication and to the Sherborne Town Council Grounds Team who prepared the area ready for the bench to be permanently situated.
