So proud of this new client today.
She put her trust in me and listened to all my recommendations for a long term plan to get her hair back on track.
Ist step today was giving it a treatment and a decent cut. Now we will give it 8 weeks using treatments and bond builders to get the condition back.

So many stylists are hearing, “my hair is falling out since starting Ozempic/Mounjaro/Wegovy…”
but no one is actually explaining the why.
Let’s fix that.

✨ First, how do GLP-1 meds even work?!

Your body has a hormone called GLP-1 that acts like a traffic controller for your appetite and blood sugar.

Normally, when you eat, GLP-1 tells your brain: “Hey, we’re getting full!” and it slows down your stomach making food stay in longer so you stay satisfied longer. It also helps your pancreas release insulin, which moves sugar from your blood into your cells for energy

GLP-1 medications are like giving your body extra traffic controllers so things run smoother.
You don’t feel as hungry.
You get full faster.
Your blood sugar stays steadier.
Your insulin starts working better.

This is why people lose weight on these meds — your brain, stomach, and pancreas are finally on the same team.

✨ But wtf does insulin have to do with HAIR? Let me tell ya.

Insulin is like a key that unlocks your cells so they can use sugar for energy.
But when you’re insulin resistant?
The key doesn’t fit well, so your body works overtime, gets fu**in stressed, and inflammation goes up.

Inflammation in the body then triggers stress hormones which make the hair follicles cranky.
They shrink, weaken, and can shed faster.
(And yes, if you’re wondering, insulin resistance itself can contribute to hair loss even before GLP-1s enter the chat.)

If you’re a stylist looking for REAL hair loss education (not recycled bu****it people just say to shut their clients up), this is exactly what I teach inside my programs.

Let’s make hair loss education accurate, accessible, rooted in science 🖤 07/12/2025
