Rosacea
A common inflammatory skin condition that affects the face. It can cause facial flushing, redness which looks similar to sunburn, red lumps both papules and pustules, small red blood vessels and in some cases dry eyes which can sometimes burn and sting. The full cause of this skin condition unfortunately is still not understood.
There are no cures for Rosacea however treatments such as IPL and Microneedling can be highly effective in calming the symptoms and reducing the redness. Avoiding alcohol, direct sun, spicy foods, strenuous exercise, and stress can all help the condition from getting worse or having a flare up. Steroid creams and antibiotics are frequently given to help reduce the inflammation and killing any bacteria that may be in the skin. A high SPF of 30 and above is recommended to be always worn.
A course of 4-6 treatments with 4 weeks in between are recommended. These single treatments start from £70 and a course of 4 can be purchased from £250. A full consultation and patch test are required.
