If you’re naturally darker and trying to be lighter while covering greys using permanent colour… this is what you’ll often end up with 👆🏼
You can see that warm banding through the mid-lengths — this happens because permanent colour builds up, and when it’s lifted, it exposes uneven underlying warmth.
The result is:
– Visible bands
– Warm tones you didn’t ask for
– A harsher grow-out
This is why I don’t always reach for permanent colour in these situations.
My go-to is grey blending using demi-permanent colour + strategic foil placement ✨
It gives a much softer, more natural result without that heavy regrowth line — and it keeps the hair looking lighter without fighting against it every appointment.
It’s not about covering everything… it’s about blending it properly 🤍

Round brushing your own hair is hard.
So instead:
I tong it → set it in rollers → let it cool
And you get:
✔️ more volume
✔️ less frizz
✔️ longer hold
Same end result… just easier.
