Looking through these old photos today reminded me how far this journey has come.

Back in 2017/2018, Back To Your Roots was just an idea.

Weekends were spent travelling to London and Oxford University to learn from some of the best in the industry. During the week, I was building the clinic, often working until 10pm at night, doing everything I could to make it work.

There were plenty of sacrifices along the way.

I was fortunate enough to learn from osteopaths such as John Gibbons and the team at OMT, chiropractors such as Dr Robert Bailey, as well as spending time around great therapists like Dr Audley at Theratopia.

At times, the destination felt impossible. The qualifications, the courses, the clinic, and the vision I had for the future all seemed so far away.

But I was obsessed with the goal.

I studied, travelled, practised, and worked relentlessly. Looking back, I was like a man possessed. Failure simply wasn’t an option.

At the time there were no guarantees. Just a belief that if I kept learning, kept showing up, and kept helping people, eventually it would pay off.

Looking back now, I feel incredibly blessed that it did.

A special thank you to Dr Audley at Theratopia for the inspiration over the years and for helping put me back together when my own body needed fixing. Your knowledge, passion, and generosity have had a bigger impact than you probably realise.

To every patient, mentor, friend, family member, and supporter who has been part of the journey, thank you.

The mission remains the same:

ADHD Flare-Ups: Why Some Days Feel Harder Than Others

ADHD doesn’t always look the same every day.

Some days you’re focused, productive and motivated.

Other days you can’t sit still, can’t concentrate, can’t switch off and end up chasing distraction after distraction.

Why?

Because ADHD brains are constantly looking for dopamine.

The problem is many people rely on borrowed dopamine:

❌ Scrolling social media
❌ Junk food and sugar
❌ Energy drinks
❌ Constant notifications
❌ Gambling
❌ Endless YouTube videos
❌ Impulse purchases

These give a quick hit, but they don’t last. In fact, they often leave you feeling worse afterwards.

The best dopamine is earned dopamine.

✅ Exercise
✅ Learning a new skill
✅ Completing a task
✅ Building a business
✅ Reading
✅ Walking outdoors
✅ Training
✅ Meaningful conversations
✅ Achieving a goal

Borrowed dopamine creates dependence.

Earned dopamine creates confidence.

If your ADHD feels worse lately, ask yourself:

“Have I been borrowing dopamine, or earning it?”

The answer is often where recovery starts.

Todays workout.

Last week, people all around the world in the CrossFit community took part in Murph to honour the life and sacrifice of Lt. Michael Murphy.

The traditional Murph is:

• 1 mile run• 100 pull-ups• 200 press-ups• 300 air squats• 1 mile run• 9kg weighted vest

For me, that's not the right choice right now.

Running is currently too high impact. My hips and lower back stiffen up, and my calves feel horrendous afterwards. The weighted vest would only add more stress where I don't need it.

So instead of trying to prove something, I modified it to suit where I am today.

My Version:

• 5k Row• 20 Rounds:

3 Toes-to-Bar

5 Chin-Ups

10 Press-Ups

15 Air Squats• 10k Wattbike

One of the biggest mistakes people make in training is letting their ego decide the workout.

Don't let your ego get you injured.

Compete against yourself, not against everyone else.

Level up slowly. Get stronger. Get fitter. Stay healthy.

If you keep improving, eventually you'll beat people anyway.

The goal isn't to win today's workout.

The goal is to still be training years from now.
