Updates on Gas works …

Update from SGN on the Dibden Purlieu Gas Main Works

Important update – Beaulieu Road gas main replacement
SGN emergency repair team are planned to complete the repairs to the gas leak on Beaulieu Road at the junction of by Thursday 2 April. These emergency repairs have delayed the commencement of the mains replacement activity.

Beaulieu Road mains replacement work will not commence until Wednesday 09 April. The parking bays outside the shops will remain open for parking from today and over the bank holiday weekend. Parking will be suspended from Wednesday 09 April.

We’d like to provide the updated programme as follows.

Phase one: Wednesday 09 April – duration of approximately four weeks
Beaulieu Road from the junction of North Road to the junction of Mansell Road

• Temporary Traffic Lights - we’ll start work on Beaulieu Road from the junction of North Road working under temporary multiway traffic lights to ensure we can maintain vehicle access along Beaulieu Road. As we progress along the road, we will reduce traffic lights down to two-way.

• Parking bay suspensions: parking bays will be suspended on the roadside outside the shops on both sides of the road. We will work with businesses for deliveries and wherever possible we will keep a bay or two available for disabled parking.

We will stop work on phase one to enable the team to complete phase two on the 25 May.

Phase two: 25 May for duration of one week
Road Closure and Traffic Lights North Road and junction of Beaulieu Road with North Road

We’ll need to have a road closure on the junction of North Road from the junction of Beaulieu Road to past the Tesco side entrance on North Road. We’ll also need to have four-way traffic lights on North Road/Beaulieu Road and Merrimede Road.

Return to Beaulieu Road to complete work on Phase one if required.

Once phase one and two are complete, we will remove operations from site and return again during the summer holidays to complete the final section of mains replacement on North Road

Phase three: Monday 27 July for duration of four weeks
Road Closure North Road at the junction of Nash Road and Water Lane
We’ll be working on North Road from the junction of Lime Walk to the junction of Nash Road/Water Lane. We will need to close North Road from junction of Lime Walk to Nash Road/Water Lane with three-way temporary traffic lights on Water Lane, Nash Road, and North Road.

The road closure on North Road will mean:
• Phase two: No through vehicle access in or out of North Road, with the exception of traffic leaving Tesco right turn onto North Road.
• Vehicle exit from Tesco will be maintained
• Phase three: No through vehicle access past the closure in either direction – a signed diversion route will be in place
• Bus routes will be affected – we’d advise passengers to contact their service provider for latest changes to routes and timetables
• Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you hear otherwise by your service provider

Container/welfare
We like to advise our mandatory container located within the parking bays is a temporary measure and will be moved to alternative location as soon as possible.

We appreciate there is significant amount of gas main replacement works currently active within your local area; these works are essential to ensure we invest in your local gas infrastructure and minimise the disruption caused by emergency gas works. Good morning the Gas works have started and it’s chaos up here already! Please be aware the parking bays outside the shops have been suspended! The signage is not perfect and the parking warden is ticket happy already! Happy Monday 😉

Spotted in Dibden Purlieu today! Anyone missing this lovely little guy!

ROAD IS NOW OPEN!!!Beaulieu Road through to the Heath and A326 is open and buses are back to usual routes!
Contractors are still working in the area and have moved the the next phase! ❤️

Just an update on access to the Dibden Purlieu shops!
We are all open as normal.
There are far too many confusing Road closed signs but rest assured you can still get up to all amenities and park outside the shops.

From the 16th SGN are replacing gas pipes which means the road into the village from the by-pass will be closed for approximately 2 weeks. We are open as normal and have attached a map of road closures for everyone’s info. Any questions give us a call 07936 418604. The Gentleman’s Barbers
