🩹 Let’s talk Kinesiology Taping vs Conventional Braces 💪
Which support suits YOU best? I’ve tried the thumb brace and wrist brace so let’s compare…

🔵 Kinesiology Tape
✔️ Flexible + allows full movement
✔️ Supports muscles + joints without restriction
✔️ Boosts circulation + reduces pain
✔️ Lightweight, waterproof & low profile
✔️ Great for sports, fatigue, posture

🔴 Conventional Braces (e.g. knee/hand brace)
✔️ Stronger support for instability or injury
✔️ Restricts movement to prevent further damage
✔️ Reusable and durable
✔️ Ideal post-surgery or for ligament injuries
✔️ More rigid, bulkier fit

💡 Tape = Mobility + Awareness
💡 Braces = Stability + Protection

🎯 The right tool depends on your goals!
My goal is to be able to still use my hand but add support to my struggling hand 🖐️.
I have been told need a brace so I don’t flex and damage my hand even more but it really restricts and I’ve lost muscle tone in my hand and it doesn’t help with the pain,
Taping for me has reduced pain and inflammation and gives me support to my wrist and thumb so I can still use my hand without loosing muscle tone as I’m still using the muscles but just have a support.

💬 Have you tried kinesiology taping before? Comment below let me know your thoughts👇

I can’t be hands on at the moment, but I did an online kinesiology taping mastery course , I’ve been dabbling in it for a while and finally took the dive to get a certificate, practicing with a wonky hand on a sporty body ,decided to tape my hand today as it’s killing me at the moment.

Hello 👋
Its been awhile since our last post ,I hope your all well and had a great bank holiday weekend.
We have had lots of sunshine which always perks everyone's mood up.

Just a quick update ,I have had major Lower spine surgery in March ,I was house bound for over a month ,so its taken time to recover and gain my mobility and strength back (its been a hard journey mentally and physically for me), but i am now getting out and about locally ,I've got my head on a level and trying to build my strength back as well as taking it easy which I'm finding hard to find the balance, but slowly getting there .

So I'm still hands off with client's at the moment as my spine is still repairing and my body is still recovering ,so i am under strict instruction to take it easy, but improving each week which is a positive.
I'm conscious a lot of clients are holding out for me to return, which is lovely as i am missing you all ,i am currently unable to give you a date at the moment for my return back to hands on with client's .

A BIG THANK YOU for all your check ins and shares for the room rent (yes I'm still trying to find a therapists to rent my space ,until i can return) on social media.
I appreciate the support and kind words.

Have a fabulous week & speak soon

Mel
xx

Good luck to all runners out today and remember your breathing ❤️🙏❤️

If you find yourself out of breath too soon while running, it’s not just about cardio fitness, your breathing technique matters, and here's a technique you should try.

Most runners don’t realize that shallow chest breathing makes running harder than it needs to be. The key to better endurance is diaphragmatic breathing (also known as belly breathing).

Why does this work?
When you take deep breaths from your diaphragm, you pull in more oxygen, which helps fuel your muscles more efficiently.

This means less fatigue and better stamina over long distances.

Here’s how to train yourself to breathe better while running:

- Practice belly breathing when lying down. Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly. Breathe in deeply through your nose so that your belly rises while your chest stays still.

- Use a rhythmic breathing pattern while running. A 3:2 pattern—inhale for three steps, exhale for two—helps distribute impact forces evenly across both sides of your body.

- Exhale fully to get rid of carbon dioxide buildup, which can make you feel out of breath faster.

Try this technique on your next run, and you’ll notice how much calmer and stronger you feel, even during longer distances.

Based in Sowerby Bridge 🙌

Hello! My name is Leila Jones, I am an integrative counsellor.

I will not diagnose you or tell you what you should do, I am here to provide a safe space for you to open up and explore anything you may want to. You lead the way, it is your journey. My intention is to help you understand yourself better and be with you. By working together there may be ways we can discover any interventions which may help you along your way.

I offer private online counselling, so if you are thinking about starting talking therapy for any reason, do get in touch at [email protected], where we can arrange a free 20 minute informal meet (via zoom). There we will discuss what you might want or expect from therapy (any goals) how we might work together or simply anything you want to bring.

I look forward to meeting you!
