Have you ever wondered why a hair stylist or colour technician charge so much more for colour than the price of a box dye?

Well let’s not think about the labour and skill, the hours of study and practicing to perfect the craft. Maybe we should, that alone is worth paying for - right?!

But look at this picture. All of those tubes which are salon standard colour are for one client! Just one inspiration picture taken from Pinterest! How insane is that?

Now I’m sure you can get a decent enough result with a box dye, but 7 separate tubes to create the desired look is something entirely different!

Well this is it. Times are a-changing and I need to have a handle on my life more than I ever have before.

In just a few short weeks, not only will I be a Mum to 2, and a freelance hair stylist but I will also be a full time student! Sheesh! Heading off to Uni to further my skills is a challenge I never thought I’d take on, but here I am, in the midst of a pandemic, doing just that.

So my ‘working’ diary will start to look very different. In some ways, more flexible (anything is more flexible than lockdown!) but in others, somewhat more constricted. So I’m getting organised!

I already have clients booked in going forward. I have bridal hair booked, and trials to diary in for next year. I’m trying not to over commit but at the same time, commit to what I love to do.

So to all of my lovely clients, thanks for being loyal throughout this pandemic. Thank you for coming back to me and recommending me to your friends and family. It all means the world. The next part of the adventure is by far the most petrifying but your kindness in my work has given me the confidence to go for it.

So it’s a wrap. Well, kind of... but this is a small selection of photos from since the release from lockdown.

It’s been a very strange time actually, but I’m back in the swing of things and up to date.

I want to thank everyone for their understanding and patience. For allowing that extra time to breathe. For recommending me to friends and family. For the positive feedback and reviews and above all else, for your kindness.

So now, the books are open again. Not only am I taking new clients but also, rebooking future appointments. I think it’s fair to say that people now appreciate their hairdresser more than they did before so I’m certainly feeling the love!
