THE IMPORTANCE OF STRETCHING โ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ช๐ป
Stretching should always be part of your exercise routine.๐
ย ย It is a fundamental part of training, by stretching and tensing the muscles they prepare for correct development and for the physical effort to which they will be subjected later.
ย Setting aside a few minutes to stretch before and after exercise is really important to achieve good results and, especially, to prevent injuries and damage.๐ค
They also manage to improve our mobility and elasticity, achieving greater agility when exercising.
In addition, we manage to increase the flexibility and range of motion of the joints. This is because a flexible muscle will always be more resistant to subsequent work, promoting circulation and reducing muscle tension.๐๐ฉธ
Stretching should not be carried out with the 'cold' muscle, a warm-up of at least 10 or 15 minutes should be performed, such as brisk walking, cycling or climbing stairs. This way we will avoid muscle or fiber damage.
As for stretching after physical exercise, they are especially useful to eliminate muscle tension and restore relaxation, and you will also reduce the possibility of soreness appearing (since we accelerate the reabsorption of lactic acid). Not only will your body benefit from stretching, it will also help you relax mentally after having done intense sports.๐โโ๏ธ๐โโก๏ธ๐คธโโ๏ธ
Each muscle group should be stretched slowly and with control, holding each stretch for 10 to 30 seconds and repeating it 2 to 3 times. You should keep each stretch at the point of slight tension and gradually increase the tension, but avoid reaching the point of pain and never rebound (rapidly increase and decrease the tension several times) as it can cause damage to the tendons, ligaments and the muscle that is stretched.โฑ๏ธโฑ๏ธ
๐ด When NOT to stretch:
๐น๏ธWhen you have muscle injuries or ligament
sprains.
๐น๏ธWhen the joints or muscles present inflammation
or acute pain.
๐น๏ธAfter a recent fracture.
