Max Verstappen had just climbed out of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 after another intense stint at the Nürburgring when he looked straight into the camera with that signature calm intensity. No energy deployment worries, no artificial limits just raw power, skill, and real racing.
He loves the simplicity and honesty of this kind of racing. The V8 screaming without any battery drama, drivers going wheel-to-wheel with natural overtakes instead of managed power modes, and the pure thrill of pushing a car to its absolute limit on the Green Hell. Max has never been shy about what he enjoys most in motorsport, and right now, in the middle of one of the toughest races on the planet, he’s reminding everyone what drew so many of us to the sport in the first place: the sound, the danger, the freedom, and the raw connection between driver and machine.
Whether you agree with him or not, Max’s words hit hard because they come from a driver who has mastered both worlds. In that moment, standing in the heart of the Nürburgring paddock with the smell of fuel and the thunder of engines all around, he wasn’t just giving an opinion he was celebrating what makes endurance racing on this legendary track so special. Real motor racing, exactly as it should be. The King spoke, and the whole racing world listened.

As many of my customers will be aware, I’m currently out in Dubai, celebrating my BIG BIRTHDAY & visiting my daughter & son-in-law… 🥰
I’m due to fly back on Saturday to return to work on Tuesday 10th, but, as we’ve just been made aware of a further extension to the suspension of scheduled flights, it’s looking more & more unlikely that I’ll be snipping your locks on Tuesday…✂️🥺
Many apologies to all of my lovely clients that have got bookings with me coming up, Sarah & Bev will be able to accommodate some of you in my absence…
