The Jolly Roger Barbershop

11 years ago today, this ship first opened her quarters to the fine scoundrels of Stafford.
Since then, I’ve sailed through calm seas and stormy waters alike with some of the best crewmates a captain could ask for.

To every soul who’s stepped aboard … whether you’ve been here since day one, dropped anchor for a single trim, or just sent a message in a bottle…. my thanks to ye. You’re all part of this voyage.

The beer’s still cold, the shears still hot, and the book’s still full.

Raise a tankard and sink one for me later, me hearties. 🫡🏴‍☠️

Sails at half mast today as we say goodbye to a ship legend. Always hard saying goodbye to a member of the crew. Gonna miss you steve, there’s a black hole on a Saturday morning now.

Join me in raising a glass at some point today for Steve’s send off. He was a true gentleman and a big personality that spanned the life of the barbershop.

Had a great run up to Christmas with all you lot this year, it’s been a tough year for a lot of people but you wouldn’t think it within the confines of the ship! As always another year full of stories, laughs and slightly above average haircuts 😝🤣

Today marks 10 years of The Jolly Roger Barbershop…. I’m not quite sure how that has happened but here we are! The amount of FUN I’ve had in this little shop is just ridiculous…. To call it work is EVEN MORE ridiculous! And long may it last!

I may never become a millionaire, but I SURE AS S**T ain’t gonna die of stress!

I won’t ramble anymore other than just to thank you all…. Whether you’re a lifetime customer, newish customer, whether you have been and moved on, been once or even just enquired! You are all behind making this place a success and keeping my book full for a decade!

Right, I got hair to cut…. Look forward to sharing a beer with you all over the next day or two 😉

The ship has returned to her full glory and is now once again fit to take on anything the seas throws at her.

My wife Sophie Newlands (S**g Interior)had her work cut out for her with this one… the brief didn’t leave a lot of wiggle room… however…. She’s absolutely SMASHED this. My shop still feels like my shop but I think it’s safe to say she’s levelled it up a notch or two 🫡🏴‍☠️

Happy new year landlubbers. I’m not gonna try write a big emotional post about 2023…. It’s been awesome. Let’s not change that for 2024. We know who we are, and we know we’re scumbags. So let’s raise the black once again and sail into a new year the same way we sailed into the last.

9 years at the helm. Although she may be a humble ship, she’s a sturdy one….. as with every passing year I want to thank every single person that has passed through these doors and made this little shop what it is. Expansion has never been on the cards for me…. I love it just the way it is!

Now then….. what are we saying about a BIG party next year to celebrate the 10th year of serving up hot shears and cold beers!

Thankyou all so much, whether you’ve just been to visit once, or been a regular since day dot….. long may it continue!

Another year down here on the ship. As always, I just want to thank every single one of my customers for keeping this vessel sailing. Honestly, nothing has changed since the day I opened and I couldn’t be more happy about it. I’ve gained the best friends I could ask for doing this job and I get to see you all daily!

So tonight, I’ll raise a very grateful glass to you all and wish you all a happy new year!

Whether you have big plans for yourself next year, or you’re content with the way things are and just want to keep things the same…Go for it! Remember, ‘success’ is subjective and completely individual. Just be the captain of your own ship. 😉🏴‍☠️

Also, for those that are interested….. the annual ‘Die Hard’ marathon is now over….. I kept a tally this year of how many times Hans Gruber Fell from Nakatomi plaza during my working hours…. Here are the results….. what a s**t Christmas he’s had! 🤣🏴‍☠️

1st of December….. Christmas decs are up aboard the ship…. The tally of Gruber falls starts NOW!

SHOP HAS BEEN OPEN 8 YEARS TODAY! How the bloody time has flown! Book still full, shears still hot & the beers still cold!

I’m useless at posting stuff on here as my creativity for ‘content’ is s**t. Plus my camera skills can make anything look awful…… but the ship is very much still alive…… sailing steady and is every inch as badass as she ever was.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has, and continues to support me…. We’ve all been through a lot together and it means the world to me that my business still thrives as a constant. Couldn’t have done any of this without the best customers/friends in the world.

As always, thank you to for having me for all these years…. Legend.

Gimme another 8 years, I’ll still be keeping it small and personal with a generous ruckus of insanity and JUST enough professionalism to keep it classed as a business 🤣
