Had a new client in recently 🌞
I sectioned, backcombed and crocheted these gorgeous bright orange partial dreads for the lovely Poppy! I'm so in love with the colour 😍

Poppy has wanted dreads for years, I'm so honoured to have helped her hair dreams come true!

I didn't realise how long it's been since I've posted on here..
I was focusing on finding a different job for a while as my dread work got to be little too much for my mental health.
That didn't really go to plan so I'm hoping to put all my energy and time back into my own small business!

Didn't get the best picture of it but also very impressed with his (well his partners) ingenuity on blunting the ends!!
I don't like doing blunt ends so generally don't, but they found a way to fix that with some folding and pinch beads!
How clever is that 😍👏
Because the hair is being held with the bead, it will eventually lock up into the dread faster than it would naturally, speeding up the blunting process. I recommend this technique to other clients who want blunted ends, it's genius yet so simple!

✨✨✨ Deep Cleanse ✨✨✨
The water before and after 🙈🙈 I should really do this more often!

It is necessary to deep clean your dreadlocks at least once a year 🙌 More so, if you have a particularly dusty or dirty lifestyle.
We do keep our hair clean but dust and dirt can still work its way deep into the dreadlock!

The way we deep cleanse is to soak the locs in bicarbonate soda for 30-40 mins. Squeeze out access water, then add apple cider vinegar and soak for a further 10 minutes! The reaction of the soda and vinegar pushes out any grime that has built up and leaves the dreads feeling so clean and fresh!!!
Then rinse with warm water until all the soda and vinegar are washed out.
And don't worry, no, it does not smell like vinegar! It smells lovely and cleannn!
You can add hair safe essential oils for a fresh scent if you'd like or add some tea tree oil if you struggle with itching

I may start offering deep cleanse sessions and kits soon 🙏🙏

🌸🌸I offer dreadlock removal services if you would like to remove them without shaving, please get in touch and make an appointment! I have a specific technique that involves methodically untangling, over the more common technique of combing out. It helps to keep the remaining hair strong and healthy 💪
It can be a very long process depending on how much hair you want to keep, so make sure to plan for a long session 🌸🌸

I've not been posting on here regularly in a few months now due to some pretty big and scary life changes!
Me and Harry have separated after 9 years together, there are no hard feelings between us and we are remaining close friends, however it is still a very big adjustment!

I will be moving my location in the next few months. Do not worry, I won't be going far!

Had an extremely difficult and aggressive client that I've had to refuse to finish their hair today.

I tried everything I could to keep her happy and it still wasn't enough. Simply asking to have payment ready for the appointment was enough for her to shout and swear at me down the phone and ask me 'who the f**k I think I am'.

I am a small business owner. Not your slave.

I will not work with aggressive people.
I will not work with bullies.
I will not work with people who are difficult or refuse to pay the agreed price.
