LIP BLUSH PSA 👄

When lip blush is first done, the colour always looks darker and more intense, this is completely normal and expected.

Here’s why 👇

• The pigment is sitting very fresh in the skin
• The lips are swollen, which makes colour look stronger
• Oxygen hits the pigment (this is oxidation)
• There’s a healing layer forming over the top

All of this together makes the colour look 30–50% darker than the final result.

Over the next few days:

Day 1–3:
Colour looks bold, deep, sometimes scary dark 😅
This is the oxidised stage.

Day 4–7:
Lips start to flake and shed the excess pigment.

Week 2–4:
Colour softens, brightens and settles into a natural, even tone.

Final healed result:
Much lighter, fresher and more ‘lip like’ than day one.

(This is guide as a general rule but alters slightly between clients and their healing process)

I want to thank the amazing .bylauryn for changing my thoughts on Imposter syndrome…. Not just once but twice 🫶🏼

I first did my SPMU course over 2 years ago which was brilliant. But as I broadened my skills and trained in skin treatments, the SPMU naturally took a little step back.

What started to happen was the longer I went without performing SPMU the more anxious I got when someone would book in and self doubt started to kick in. Anyone who works in this industry knows it’s a profession that you need to keep at daily to advance your skills and get better.

I work alongside Lauryn and loved her work (she’s amazing) and as I was at the point of knocking SPMU on the head, my friend said to me ‘why would you doubt yourself? You haven’t come this far to come this far’ 🫶🏼✨

It was the motivation I needed so I decided to book a masterclass with Lauryn in September and was so happy I did. Learning different techniques, skills and tools and a bit of reassurance was all I needed and Lauryn provided with me all that more. She was professional and very kind in sharing everything she had learnt. These tips changed the game for me, technically and mentally.

Again, last week when doing a set of lips imposter syndrome kicked in during the treatment. Nothing went wrong and they looked great… it was all in my head (why do we let self doubt get to us?). I messaged Lauryn telling her my thoughts and straight away she was like, “book someone in and I’ll shadow you again, no charge” …. I LOVE THAT 🥰 straight away she was happy to help me better myself and get rid of my self doubt, because she wanted to support me and see me WIN! 💯

So I just want to thank you .bylauryn for the masterclass that changed my outlook on my business, my skill set and confidence 💫💖

And a message to anyone else who is in self doubt, just remember there are people out there that can bring out the best in you and remind you that you are capable, you are good enough and you can do this!
