A little glimpse into a small business nail tech setup — built with hard work, long hours, passion and thousands invested back into the business. Yet somehow in this industry, it often feels like unless you have a huge following, your work and support go unnoticed.

Big nail brands are happy to gift influencers and large creators, while so many talented small nail techs who consistently buy, promote and genuinely support these brands rarely get recognised.

And no one really addresses the elephant in the room… how disheartening it can be as a small business to give so much support and love to huge brands, spending our own wages on their products, helping grow their businesses — yet receive little to no support or recognition in return.

People don’t really talk about it, but it’s a very real feeling in this industry. One nail tech may have 20k followers while another may only have 100, but behind both accounts is still a real person trying to grow something they care deeply about.

Building a business, improving skills, showing up consistently and putting yourself out there despite low engagement is something that should be applauded too. Small nail techs are the backbone of this industry just as much as the big creators are.…
