If you’re new here, hi, I’m Laura - nail tech, podcast host & cat mum ✌️🎙️
I started Nails & Yap over a year ago after having so many conversations with other nail techs that I wanted more people to hear. Honestly the WISDOM nail techs say casually is astounding 👏
Outside of hosting the pod, I’m probably breaking the business boundaries I harp on about so much (total hypocrite x), trying to force my cat to cuddle me, scrolling my phone too much or knocking things over because my hand eye coordination is zerooooo.
I value authenticity, not making everything seem shiny and amazing when it isn’t, having the real honest conversations we don’t always make public… so if those things are your jam then we’ll get along just nicely!

From my anniversary episode - 1 year of nails and yap 🎙️
In the latest episode of Nails & Yap I surveyed 60 REAL clients to find out the reasons people leave. And whilst yep some of them are within our control (like the vibe of the salon feeling cliquey?! 😬), there were also a lot of responses that gave reasons out of our control… things like house moves, budget changes and scheduling issues.
Sometimes it’s not worth stressing about why that client left or why you’ve seen their story with fresh nails when you haven’t seen them for 3 months!!
Just here to remind you (and myself!!) that it’s okay to disappear from posting sometimes 🥲 we’re nail techs not content creators and it’s fkn hard doing a full time job plus social media on top!!!
So if you’re like me this week and have zerooooo motivation let’s not beat ourselves up about it & let’s just remember we’re busy not lazy 👏
