Some people seem to carry a natural warmth, kindness and sense of fun wherever they go, and this lovely lady is certainly one of them.

Alongside a busy working life, she is also a celebrant, helping people mark some of life's most meaningful moments. Bringing joy to others seems to come naturally to her, and I think that spirit is reflected beautifully in her hair too.

For this look, we created s**g-inspired movement and texture, tailored for effortless everyday styling. Normally, this haircut is designed to work with her natural movement and texture, and we often encourage it to be scrunch dried for a softer, more lived-in finish.

On this occasion, however, we decided to blow dry the hair, creating a smoother result that showcases the shape, layering and detail in a slightly different way.

I also colour her hair, although what you are seeing here is not a fresh colour. In fact, these highlights are now several months old. One of my favourite things about creating colour is designing it to grow out beautifully, allowing softness, dimension and brightness to remain long after the appointment itself. The lived-in effect here is a lovely example of that.

I think it suits her perfectly. Fun, relaxed, full of movement and personality, whilst still feeling beautifully wearable every day.

Today I managed to capture a few photographs of my Dad while he was in the salon.

Without him, and many others, ILLUMI simply would not exist. It has always been, and continues to be, a collaboration of support, encouragement, belief, and hard work from so many people over the years.

There is something particularly special about seeing family sit back, relax, and genuinely enjoy the experience.

It is quite a contrast to years gone by, when neither of my parents particularly enjoyed having their hair done elsewhere.

Perhaps that is one of the things that means the most to me. Not only seeing them feel comfortable and cared for, but knowing they are receiving the same level of attention, creativity, and high-quality hairdressing that we strive to give every guest who walks through our doors.

Moments like these remind me that what we have created at ILLUMI is about so much more than hair. It is about people feeling comfortable, cared for, able to be themselves, and leaving with hair they genuinely love.

And for all of that, I remain truly appreciative.
