Some of you may have seen on BBC Breakfast this morning about the growing concerns on reactions to gel polish.

Below is a statement from the owner & CEO of CJP Nail Systems 🥰

Good morning 🙂

There’s a panicked under currant ripping through the nail industry this morning. An interview on BBC highlighting the dangers of gel polish and the allergies it has caused over the years, which has been especially highlighted in the last 4 years.

You may want to reassure your clients this morning just like I want to reassure our newer techs who have only just joined the nail industry and might have missed the build up to this over the years. Allergies have been rife, they have taken over the industry and social media groups have been created to warn techs about certain brands. It is not my place to call out other brands, it is my job as a company and as a human being to make sure what we provide are SAFE.

Our gels are manufactured here in the UK, it’s a little different if your gels are made here as the standards are so high, you may notice we don’t always have the fancy new trend polish’s, certain cats eyes, magnetic etc, and this is because we can’t get them passed and we will not turn a blind eye. Over the last few years we made the decision to go as HEMA FREE as possible and even just recently you will have noticed we have removed it from our builder gel.

I can’t promise you nobody would ever react and I won’t label my products as hypoallergenic as to me that’s a dangerous statement,anyone can be allergic to anything even sunlight and cotton wool! However I can promise you that our gel products comply to the highest standards not only in the UK but countries around the world. They have independent reports from leading toxicologists and to be honest by now I hope I have earned not only your trust but our place in the nail industry. Initially CJP became so popular as people found they could have nails again after learning the hard way and choosing brands with fancier packaging. It’s not the shape of the bottle you need to worry about it’s what’s inside it that counts.

My motto has always been

If I wouldn’t use it on my own daughter, I wouldn’t sell it to you.

Please feel free to share my post or take from it what you want to reassure your own customers as that’s a scary statement for them to listen to. I haven’t personally watched it but lots have said it talks about gel polish in general so you may want to put peoples minds at rest.

I’ve always kept myself to myself in the world of nails and not got involved with the other groups and the scaremongering but behind the scenes I have worked tirelessly to ensure what I bring to the market will help you flourish not fail.
