Always good to continue learning!
Last week I attended the "Spinal manipulation and mobilization" course by the renowned John Gibbons.
The spinal mobilization techniques I learnt will be invaluable for helping clients with restricted mid/upper back (thoracic) movement, as well as issues with neck/hip issues which are connected to the spine.
Our everyday lives often no longer require us to rotate as often as our spine was designed for, leading to restriction over time. Mobilizations and massage are non-invasive techniques to restore our intended mobility, leading to better, pain free movement.

Includes:
1) Assessment of symptom history: muscle (strains etc), joint pain (tennis elbow etc), nerve pain/tingling/numbness (neck, shoulder etc), general or specific areas of tension (headaches etc), posture alignment problems *including for home working*, sports injuries (e.g hip pain from running)
2) Movement and posture assessment to determine the underpinning cause of symptoms (not necessarily at the site of symptoms!)
3) Aftercare guidance for short term relief of symptoms and long term correction of undying cause (s).
Treatment will depend on the problem but may include: self-massage, acupressure, and specific stretching to relax areas of tightness, exercises to strengthen areas of weakness, postural cues to adjust alignment (including computer desk alignment).

1 year ago was my 5 year anniversary of Massage & Acupressure 360.
