Hi everyone,
I just want to say a huge thank you to all my clients for your patience while I’ve been off. This has been the longest period I’ve ever had off sick. I’m still not 100% and I’m still dealing with a cough, but I’m definitely feeling much better than I was.
Sadly, we also received some heartbreaking news while I’ve been off work. My mother-in-law passed away suddenly yesterday, which has come as a complete shock to us all. This is why I’ve been especially quiet this week, alongside being unwell.
I’ll be returning to work on Friday afternoon and will be staying later to start working through the large backlog of appointments. I’ve had so many people on the cancellation list this week, so I’ll be doing my best to catch up as quickly as I can.
I previously said I wouldn’t take on another chair rental, but this week has made me realise that I can’t manage everything on my own.
Please bear with me while I work on getting everyone rebooked — it may take a little time.
Thank you all so much for your continued patience and understanding
Claire 🥰
Hiya.
I think this might be the first time since I've had the shop that I've had to cancel all my appointments for the next three days due to illness. I hate having time off and having to cancel on people, but I need to listen to the GP I guess.
Ive been bad for a couple of weeks with a cough and I've just come back from the doctors. Its all on my chest and my throat is inflamed, swollen and irritated. The GP has said if I don't rest it its only going to get worse so this means I have to stop talking for a bit 🙈. I think I've cancelled everybody.
I do have the most amazing loyal clients though. Majority of them have booked back in already and are really understanding. I can't really afford to cancel appointments take three days off like this, and you do worry sometimes that because they need a haircut. They will go elsewhere, but the loyal ones always stick with me even when they cant get in. They just book in advance
So i just want to say thank you to everyone that supports me and stays with me
Claire x
Hiya
Ive got very limited availability for the rest of the week. I was fully booked, but had two cancellations.
Tomorrow at 1pm
Friday at 2.30pm
Im a busy bee now im on my own and although its busy, I am definitely happier.
Most definitely not having any more staff. The only person to think about is myself. Its been very humbling and nice to know what my loyal clients have been saying since being on my own.
As I am on my own, clients may need to start booking in advance, just to guarantee a preferred slot. It also helps if majority of clients can use the app when booking. I would really appreciate it.
Thank you x
Morning all.
Hope you've had a good weekend.
Ive only got 4 appointments remaining for this week.
Today- fully booked
Thursday- 11am, 11.30am 2.30pm

Morning all.
What a lovely day we have.
Sun is shining, clear blue skies, birds are singing 🤣🤣. (I wish)
Im not in till 12.30 today I've got physio first thing and a telephone appointment after that.
Im fully booked now till next Tuesday and only have 3 appointments remaining that day.
As a lot of my clients know, Milo is a barky dog and likes to be heard at work.
At home he is quite the opposite as you can see in the photo. Lazy and likes his comfort 🤣🤣
Well enough for now enjoy the sunshine 🤣
Hope you all have a good weekend
Hi everyone,
It feels like ages since I last posted — I’ve been enjoying a bit of a social media break. I’ve stepped away from Instagram and TikTok for now, as they no longer serve me.
I’m currently working solo, so appointments may need to be booked a little further in advance. I’ll always do my best to be flexible where possible.
For the time being, I won’t be having anyone else working in the shop (apart from Deone). I’m genuinely enjoying having the space to myself and focusing on my work.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hiya
Another year gone at the shop. 6 years today I opened the doors. Ive had that many move around and changes and i don't even get bored of doing it🤣🤣
Ive had highs, lows, drama, lots of good times. Met some amazing people who have stuck with me for all this time and wouldn't still be going if it wasn't for the support .
I do need to slow down a bit though. My joints ain't getting any younger🤣🤣, so if you see hours changing you know why.
Thank you everyone for keeping me going.
🥰🥰❤️

Morning all.
Myself and Elly are in today . Elly is in from 9.30 and I am in from 12.30.
I am currently watching you tube waiting for spaceX crew 11 to do de-orbit burn and land off coast of California.
Hubby said im sad🤣🤣. I love space hence why i want a telescope 😁
It is my lifetime ambition to go to space. I just don't think it's going to happen 🤣. I might have to reincarnate myself as an alien in my next life🤣
Have a good day
Its always so nice to receive reviews like this. Feedback is an important part of your job

Love a scissor cut. There are that many younger barbers not confident with scissors, but its basics and I love doing them

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
Apologies in advance for another long post, but this is something I feel I both want and need to speak about.
As we move into yet another new year that seems to have come around so quickly, I feel it’s important to talk about men’s mental health and to help raise awareness around su***de — especially among younger men.
I don’t want to begin on a negative note, but for some families this is an unavoidable and painful reality, and it’s exactly why awareness is so important. On December 16th, I attended the funeral of Ethan, the son of my sister-in-law and stepson of my brother-in-law. Tragically, Ethan passed away on Sunday 9th November at just 28 years old. He left behind his two-year-old son, his mum and dad, stepdad, three brothers, and many other family members and friends.
There are no words that can truly comfort parents in this situation. Nothing anyone says can take that pain away. All we can do is be there for them, in whatever way they need.
What I haven’t mentioned until now is that Ethan’s mum and I hadn’t spoken for five years before the funeral. It was over something that now feels so insignificant. We are both strong, stubborn women, and neither of us backed down — but Ethan’s passing put everything into perspective and forced us to face what really matters. If you’ve ever fallen out with someone over something small or trivial, please try to make amends. Life is far too short, and we never know what’s around the corner.
Having had previous experience with men’s mental health and also personal experience of mental health within my family, this is an issue which is close to my heart. I’m aware of Andy’s Man Club, a national charity created for similar reasons, but I strongly feel there is a need for more local support too. Working in a barbershop gives us daily opportunities to connect with men who might be struggling — yet often we cut their hair, chat about nothing important, and they walk out carrying the weight of their worries alone.
Maybe some of them want to open up, but fear they won’t be listened to, or don’t feel confident enough to speak. If a man doesn’t feel able to talk to his barber, chances are he won’t talk to anyone. This is where change needs to happen.
Why don’t men talk? Too often it’s because of outdated expectations — the belief that men must always be strong, mentally and physically, and that showing vulnerability somehow makes them “less of a man.. I wouldn’t feel compelled to write this post. In the UK, at least 11 men take their own lives every day. What can we do about it? Sometimes, sadly, nothing — but if we can help even one person find the support they need, then this post is worth it.
In my opinion, two of the hardest words to say are “sorry” and “help.” And yet, they are often the most important words we can ever say.
This year, I want to do something — I’m not entirely sure what yet — but I feel a strong need to help create or support a local network for those who can’t help themselves. Sometimes there are no obvious signs, and sometimes the signs were there but we didn’t recognise them at the time.
Rest in peace, Ethan, and to all those who have gained their angel wings. May you be forever at peace, and may your spirits live on through the love of your families. 💙
